Part 6: Team of Broken Orphans

*Luna POV*

I woke up in my room as I stretched my body. I got out of bed and walked into the living room as I noticed my teammates were smiling at me.

Silver: Morning, did ya sleep well?

I nodded my head slowly since my head still hurts. I then remembered everything that happened yesterday. How I lost control, when I got a new guardian named Aries, and finally... I rubbed my head and noticed that I'm not wearing a hood. I wiggle my fox ears and surely enough, they were there.

Newt: There's a box of strawberries on the table.

He said while focusing on his game of chess against his sister. Ryker on the other hand was writing on his notebook. I notice that Silver was about to win so I decided to help out Newt.

Me: Newt, move your white bishop to h6.

He did exactly what I said and Silver was checkmate. Silver was surprised while Newt just looked at me smiling.

Newt: Thanks for the help, kitsune.

I blush at the nickname he gave me. I know that kitsune was another word for fox but I can't remember where it was from. Ryker stands up and pats me on the shoulder.

Ryker: You did a good job yesterday. I hope you're feeling better?

I nod my head slowly. They all sit down as I just stood there with my hand on my arm.

Aquarius: Go on, sit with them.

Me: What if they don't want me to be around them?

Aries: Doesn't matter, their your teammates anyways.

I sigh and sit down with them. After at least five minutes of awkward silence, Silver speaks up.

Silver: Okay, how about we talk about how fucked up are lives are?

Ryker: I'm down.

Newt: Might as well.

They all look at me.

Me: O-Okay... But let's not hide anything. No lies or secrets.

They all nod.

Silver: *sigh* I'll start. I, uh, I'm not entirely Newt's sibling. We're half-siblings. Same dad, different moms.

Me and Ryker were confused. How are they twins then?

Ryker: Then, how are you-?

Silver: We were born the same day but were different moms.

Ryker: I see, very well, carry on.

Silver: With my family, dad left me and my mom when I was 4. She was more or less a street fighter. Then my mom then died when I was 7. I was supposed to go to an orphanage but Newt's mom actually took me in as their own.

Me: Aw... That's really sweet.

Newt: It was. It was just me and my mum. Dad left us too. Although, she did say that dad was a soldier in Atlas while she was a scientist. Then she remembered that he also had another kid with someone so we looked for her and eventually, we're a family.

Silver: Newt is smart like his mom and I'm a fighter like my mom.

Newt: But we also have our dad's authoritative attitude.

Luna: At least your life isn't that fucked up.

Newt: That's what you think...

Silver: I always try to run away from home, usually having them find me. But it all changed when I ran away and was kidnapped by bandits.
