Chapter 35: Haven Academy

*Ryker's POV*

We have finally reached Haven. I'm already waiting for them since I've been here a few times now. I see them arrive with Qrow. They notice me and Ruby waves but I ignore her and walk up to Qrow, removing my mask as well. My dark red hair and the scar across my right eye are now visible.

Me: You're nearly late, but at least on time.

Qrow: Yeah, good seeing you too.

Me: Let's get this over with shall we?

We all walk through the Academy's halls but not a single teacher in sight. Not even a student. Not. A. Single. One...

Me: Oh no...

Ruby: Hello? Hello?!

Nora: Maybe, try louder?

Ren: There doesn't seem to be anyone around. School must not be in schedule yet.

Me: Well, that's not good.

Qrow: You read my mind. Come on!

Qrow bolts it towards the headmaster's office with Ruby and the others following him. I just walked calmly. They arrive at the office door and ready to break in.

Me: Three... Two... One...

Qrow kicks down the door but Leonardo Lionheart, the headmaster, was already there. The sudden burst of the door managed to startle him and make him faint. Qrow, who was standing on one leg, loses his balance and falls over. I walk over to them.

Me: *sarcastic* Nice job guys, you found the headmaster! But you did a better job killing him by putting him in an extreme state of shock. Very good, fucking, job! Woo!

Ruby: Shuddup!

Lionheart managed to recover and shout a Qrow.

Lionheart: Qrow! For crying out loud! You nearly scared me half to death!

Qrow: Me?! Why weren't you waiting for us at the entrance?!

The headmaster checks his pocket watch.

Lionheart: Oh, I guess time must've slipped away from me. I've been a little busy.

This is where I became skeptical. Time to ask questions...

Me: Professor, is it okay to ask? What were you doing that cause you to become late?

He seemed a little tense but he calmed down a bit.

Lionheart: I was fixing my office for a bit.

I nodded, seeing as I got my answer.

Lionheart: You all must be the children that Qrow mentioned.

Ruby: Yes sir. Ruby Rose!

Jaune: I'm Jaune Arc.

Nora: Nora Valkyrie!

Ren: Lie Ren.

Me: Ryker Wells.

Lionheart: A pleasure to meet you all. I'm Leonardo Lionheart. Headmaster of Haven Academy.

Ryker: Well, it seems quiet here.

Lionheart: Well, yes, my staff are currently away until classes resume.

Qrow: Are you serious?! Then who's guarding the relic?!

Lionheart: Qrow! The children --

Qrow: -- Are already filled in. I told them.

I sense that the headmaster is somewhat, troubled...

*Timeskip*

Everyone, mostly Qrow and the Headmaster, were talking. I took this as an opportunity to examine the room a bit more. The room sure is clean but something was off.
