Quinn lost her patience.Quinn quickly drew the knife from her pocket, pointing it threateningly at Aleo. "Last chance wolf! Scram!" Quinns eyes flashed dangerously as she threatened the wolf pup.
Aleo held his ground, not even flinching. He refused to leave or back down, he was thrown out of his pack because he was slow and weak. He wasnt going to show weakness now when there was no evidence that proved what Quinn was saying.
Winter huffed angrily, still not being able to find her mothers purse. Sighing in defeat, the young girl headed back outside empty handed. "Mom I couldnt find your-" Winter stopped short at the scene before her young eyes.
Her mother pointing a knife threateningly at her brother! Winter let herself feel proud if Aleo for standing his ground but it only lasted for a minute as she saw Quinn raise the knife.
Without thinking, she ran toward the 2 using the extra speed she had from having vampire blood in her veins. Winter shoved her mother away and stood in front of Aleo. "Mom no! You cant hurt him! He didnt do anything wrong!" Winter shouted angrily.
The vampire glared down at the girl. Quinn knew Ray would be back soon, any minute really, but she didnt care at this point. "If you dont move I'll cut you!" Quinn hissed angrily, secretly hoping she didnt have to hurt her daughter.
Winter stayed silent. She was scared- no she was terrified! But she kept that fear hidden, she held her ground, feeling a bit better when Aleo growled lowly, reminding her of his presence. "Winter, Ray's coming! His scent is getting stronger!" Aleo looked in the direction Ray's scent was coming from.
Winter nodded, still not trusting her voice, fearing it might crack and show how scared she really was. Quinn didnt bother with a second warning, swiftly and quickly slashing Winters face.
Winter cried out, falling to her knees and covering her eye with both hands. "MY EYE!!" "WINTER!" Aleo quickly tried to help but was stopped by Quinn, who had dropped the knife, and kicked him harshly in the stomach.
"What. Are. You. DOING?!" Ray's growl could have shook the earth. Quinn stopped cold in her tracks and looked at her husband. Not giving her time to respond, Ray ran forward, pushing the vampire to the ground.
Quinn watched horrified as Ray turned to a form she had never seen before in her life.
In a matter of seconds Ray had grown to be over 12 feet, long fur covering his body, nails how sharper than any knife. If anyone saw him they would say he looked like one of those monstrous werewolves from Halloween movies, standing high on 2 legs.
Ray's growls never lowered or grew in volume as his claws repeatedly came down on the vampire, making cuts deep enough that it would take her at least a day to heal. The furious father would have finished her off if it wasnt for the whine.
A small whine that was barely audible. But he heard it. That one whine was all it took for him to stop and turn, going down on his knees in front of his daughter.
Winter had seen this form before, it calmed her and neither knew why, but it did. Never uncovering her eye, she reached out with her other hand to her father, silently crying in pain. Aleo by this time had gotten up and kept Quinn on the ground.
Ray carefully picked up his daughter, who now looked the size of an infant compared to his large size. Ray looked to Aleo, giving him a look that said 'let her go' and Aleo did just that. Quinn scrambled to her feet and ran as fast as her bleeding body could carry her.
Aleo looked down in shame. "I'm so sorry. To the both of you. I failed to protect you Winter." Aleo said sadly. Ray carefully patted the young pups head and shooed him off towards the house. Aleo got the hint and walked off to lay on the porch.
Winters cries slowly died down as her breath evened out and she fell asleep. Ray carefully set her down and turned back to his human form, swifty picking Winter back up bridal style.
He knew he should have tended to her injury sooner but at the same time he knew she'd be okay. Werewolves heal quicker than normal, not as quick as vampires but still quick.
Walking inside, will Aleo in tow, Ray layed Winter down on his bed and grabbed first aid stuff from the bathroom. He worked quickly with cleaning up the cut. Luckily it wasnt infected but it was definitely going to scar. Ray sighed and sat at the foot of the bed.
"Is she going to be okay?" Aleo asked, propping his head on Ray's leg. Ray patted the pups head. "She should be okay. I'm worried about her sight though. That will definitely scar but it might also leave her partially blind in that eye." Ray covered his face with his hands, propping his elbows on his legs.
Aleo looked worriedly at Winter. He knew she was strong for a girl at the age of 9. But... he worried if she would be okay mentally.
Only time would tell from there.
Okay! Finally updated! This is a bit longer than usual! I will be showing pictures of Winter, Ray, Aleo, and Quinn next chapter! Which should be published in about 5 minutes or less! Bai for now!
