The Monday after the weekend, i sigh. we never went back to the party and i didn't want to. but Gabbie's gonna give me shit for it, i walk out of my room and run down the stairs. i grab my bag off the chair by the door and start walking down the street.

Avani said she has a family day trip planned today so she's not going to school

it'll be me on my own.

i shiver at the thought of what might happen if i'm by myself. i tie my hair in a loose braid and make sure my pockets are tucked in. i walk past a few more streets and then make it to the front of the school. i take a deep breath and enter, i walk straight to my locker and then straight to the bathroom. i go into one of the stalls and pull out my phone.

me: almost in first period, how am i gonna survive without you?

avani: try to avoid them, get to class early and don't get caught. see you tmrw about to lose wifi.

me: love ya

avani: love ya

i put my phone away as first period bell rings, i open the door to the bathroom, Gabi and Anthony are waiting on the other side of the hall, i quickly is walk past them and get into my classroom, which thank god, was only a few feet away.

i take a seat in the back and wait for everyone else to arrive. Anthony, Payton and Gabi walk in and sit down in their usual spots.

"Chase is going to be late" I hear Payton tell the teacher, she nods.

"ok class today we're starting a new unit-" but i stopped listening after that. i think about what happened at the party, how chase had warned us not to come back.

somethings up, i tell myself. i wonder if Gabi will give me shit for not coming back, because she seems to not even be noticing me...maybe it's part of her plan. i don't even know.

"hey i'm here" i hear a familiar voice that brings me out of my thoughts.

"mr. Hudson, how nice of you to finally join us" the teacher says, he sits down next to gabi but she ignores him too, i wonder why she's ignoring everyone. well everyone except anthony.

i look up back towards the front of the room, chase slowly turns his head back and we make eye contact, i look down at my notebook.

i look back up and he's facing the front now, i add him back when the teacher isn't looking and he starts typing.

Chase H: i told Gabi not to give you shit

i look back up and he's looking at me again with his eyebrows raised.

"mr. hudson!" i hear the teacher yell, most of the class laughs.

"since you seem so interested in what Miss. Elise is doing, you should go sit in the seat beside her" she continues, Gabi and Anthony look back at me.

"Excuse me Mrs. Briggs" Gabi raises her hand.

"Chase doesn't want to sit beside the freak" she continues. everyone looks at me. i close my text books and put it in my bag along with my notebook.

"either move your seat, or straight to detention" the teacher points at chase, god please choose detention. Chase looks over at Gabi and she motions for him to leave. he stands up and walks out of the classroom. yes.

*snapchat: Chase H is typing...*

the teacher turns back around to the board and i open my phone, i jump to the sound of her voice.

"Mrs. Elise! why do you children think our rules have changed?!" she goes on a yelling rant.

"detention" she finishes, i stand up and start walking, out the door and down the hall. i open the snap.
