Her hair is in two braids and she has a black hoodie on with her hood pulled over her head. She has on blue jeans but they aren't ripped, one hand shoved in her pocket and the other carrying a skateboard.

I didn't know she skated.

She stops a bit across the field and looks around, probably making sure that no one else is here.

"Hey" I say as she approaches

She just nods.

"I didn't know you skated" I comment, she just nods again.

"Look Aspen I know you hate me, like a lot but I just wanted to say I am sorry. like really sorry. about everything. and you don't have to except my apology but just know i'm sorry, okay? i'm not friends with Gabby and Anthony anymore, I'm done." I spit out quickly.

"But there is something I wanna talk to you about" I add

"what the fuck did you just say?!" I yell

"I mean...like it won't be that bad right? just quick" Anthony laughs

"you're suggesting that you fucking RAPE her?!" I scream

"dude chill out"

"No! I fucking won't! are you stupid?! dude?! what the actual fuck is wrong with you guys?! you want to have her raped? that innocent girl?!" I push against anthony's chest and he stumbles back a little bit.

"I'm fucking done" I shake my head

"Oh baby you know you're only done when I say you're done" Gabby smirks and straightens my shirt before walking out of the room with Anthony.

"So just stay away from Anthony" I finish telling Aspen about what his plan was at the party the other day.

"You just told me that your best friend has plans to rape me, how do I know that he isn't here right now?" She asks quietly and bites the inside of her cheek, something i've noticed she does quite often when she's nervous.

She throws her board on the ground and places her foot over the front and drops into the bowl, swooping up the other side and catching her board in her left hand.

"You just have to trust me I guess" I do the same and end up beside her

"Why'd you come anyway?" I ask, she drops her board again and skates over to the rail where she jumps and glides along the metal all the way to the end.

She shrugs when she hits the ground.

"Does Jonah know you're hanging out with me?" I pick up my board and walk over to her, she skates away quickly and does laps around the bowl while we talk and she answer my questions.

"Hey i've got a question for you" She smiles.

We've been talking for about an hour now and the glow of the streetlights is starting to be washed out by the rising sun.

"shoot" I respond

"what was your first impression of me?" she asks

"in class or at lunch?"

"lunch"

"well I thought that you were very pretty" I smile

"really?" she stops skating and walks over to where i'm sitting

"mhm, and I really liked your voice" I continue

she nods

"and how you tried to stand up for me when Gabby asked about your brother" I lay down with my feet hanging off the edge of the bowl, she lays down beside me.

"Gabby's a bitch" I can hear the tears in her eyes by the way her voice cracked but I don't say anything.

"Aspen?" I ask

"Mhm"

"Do- Do you hurt yourself?" I ask softly

I know it's not something you ask people, but I needed to know.

"I used to- but it was way before I came to this school. 3 years clean. but I do take happy pills"

"i'm proud of you...for three years I mean" I whisper

"do you hurt yourself?" she asks, and turns her head to face me
