Draco's POV

"Blaise, I've decided to apologize to her," I announced the next morning.
"Don't, you were right," he said. I almost fell over! Now that I had my mind made up the guy decided the other way?
"Why?" I ask.
"Well Ginny came in here all mad last night -" he cut off. "- and we fought about who was right and I think you shouldn't have to apologize!" Blaise reasoned. I frowned.
"No I think I still should. You were right last night I think," and with that I stormed off to the great hall. I assumed that I would sit at the Syltherin table, maybe with the Gyfindor bunch, we have been doing that for a week now. But when I got there, everyone was at their table. Ginny next to Hermione, talking as usual, Ron and Harry laughing while Lavender tried to get into their conversation, and Luna and Neville sitting quietly, Luna eating pudding while Neville transfiguring his goblet of pumpkin juice into a goblet of wine again and again. I knew he had just mastered it in class the other day.

I looked over there for a few minutes before Blaise caught up with me and dragged me over to our table, where all my other friends were. I ate breakfast slightly quieter than usual, but no one pointed it out except Goyle, the git.
"Draco why are you not talking?"
"I don't feel like it,"
"Are you ok?" He said, very slowly as if I was stupid or something.
"I'm fine!" I yelled.
Then I got up from the table and left.

I knew what I had to do. I waited outside the door. Breakfast ended and students filed out slowly. I waited for Hermione to pass, before grabbing her and dragging her around the corner.
I looked at her, expecting her happy eyes to cheer me up. But my heart was shattered by what I saw.

Her brown eyes were cold, and slightly wet. Her pale pink lips were not smiling, but slightly turned down. Instead of being happy she seemed sad, cold, down, and even annoyed.

"Hermione?" I asked, letting go of her shoulders, which I didn't notice I had been clutching until now.
She didn't look at me. Instead she looked down. I thought I saw a tear fall, and it made me feel really bad. Had I done this? Just by a simple word? Eight letters...m-u-d-b-l-o-o-d, and she hated me?
"Hermione!" I tried to lift her chin but she whirled around at my touch.
Without a word she stalked away.
I felt so sad.
"Hermione!" I cried, chasing after her.
"Please Hermione! Come back!" She was now heading up the many staircases, and I was a few staircases behind her. As I was about to reach her she cast a spell, and the stairs moved. Then she cast another spell, silently, that froze me from moving.
I was stuck and would be until someone found me. I was going to miss class. Drat. Stupid
mudblo-Hermione.
