Draco's POV
I can't believe how well everything is working out. The grand dining room was made into a ball room, where round tables lined the room. My entire group of friends sat down at one.
"Hermione, can I get you something to drink?" I asked as I took off my coat.
"Oh sure! I think a butterbeer would be nice," she said, also taking off her jacket. As I walked though the room to get the drinks, Gregory stopped me.
"What are you really doing with her?"
"I told you, she's my date!"
"No, I mean really?"
"Yes! Hermione Granger is my date!"
"No she isn't!"
"What are you talking about? Yeah she is!" I said, my voice rising.
"What are you really doing with her?"
He continued. I decided to just let him in. I shrugged.
"I'm going to kidnap her afterwards," I said, crossing my fingers, then I pushed past him to go get the drinks.
I looked back and he stood there with a dumbfounded look on his face, mouth slightly open."Draco! What took so long? You look...confused?" Hermione looked at me, tilting her head.
"I'm fine. Let's go dance!" I grabbed her hand and pulled her up. I was glad to be away from the table. Everyone else there was with their partner talking about a date at Hogsmeade or somewhere. No one was staring at them..."Draco," Hermione started, looking down. She bit her lip.
"Are you sure you're ok? You seem shaken up?" She leaned in closer. I felt warmth run threw me and chills run up my spine at the same time.
"I told you, I'm fi-"
But I was cut off when Gregory tapped me on the shoulder.
"Go away, Goyle. I'm busy,". I said.
"This is important!"
I followed Goyle all the way to the room of requirement.
"What's in here?" I asked, as he pushed the doors open and dragged me inside.
"This!" And suddenly I was pushed into a clear glass cabinet. The doors slammed shut and locked. Goyle started to laugh.
"Goyle...what are you going?"
"I know you like the Mudblood. You aren't going to kidnap her. So I'll do it for you. I'm sure your father would be proud to call me his son," he sneered.
"Goyle! Don't you dare hurt Hermione! Let me go, you idiot!" But he had already left.Hermione's POV
"I wonder where Draco went?" Lavender asked. I but my lip and looked around.
"Maybe we should look for him. It's been over an hour since he left," Ginny pointed out.
"Yeah, let's slip up and look for him," Harry suggested.
"Baise, you take this room, he might just be in a crowd, Ginny, you and Harry search the first floor, Ron, you can take the second floor, Lavendar, you the third, Pansy, you look in the Sytherin common room, Astoria and I will take the fourth floor. If we don't find him in those areas we meet back and search the remaining floors," I said, and everyone headed off."So..." Astoria began. "where do you think he could be?" She said, looking around. I glanced around the hall we were in, looking at the portraits.
"I don't know, Tori, but I'm worried. He went off with Goyle..."
"THE PAINTINGS!" Astoria beamed suddenly, pointing at the painting of a young girl swing on a vine.
"Excuse me, have you seen Draco Malfoy pass this area?" I asked her.
"No I have not! But I can ask the other paintings if they have. We can search the entire castle in a few minutes!"
She said, her voice booming out of the painting. It was full of energy.
"Thank you! That would be so helpful!" Astoria smiled. As we walked the corridors on the fourth floor we heard the buzz of paintings talking and moving around, looking for Draco.
As worried as I was, I still smiled. All the paintings were looking for him.
