Draco's POV
I'm so dang stupid. She was HAPPY she was going with me! Not annoyed, skeptical, or scared.
I banged my head against my pillow that night. If I hadn't called her a Mudblood...maybe we would still be going to the dance together."Draco? You ok?" I heard Theo call from his bed. I really wanted to tell him. I'm sure he would understand, but if I got a personal I would feel like a girl. They can chat for hour on one subject, I don't get how.
"No - I mean, yeah. I'm just frustrated," I couldn't tell Theo. He didn't know about Hermione. I could tell Blaise.
"I got to go," I got out of bed and shook Blaise awake. "Blaise, mate, wake up. We need to talk about something," he groaned and rolled over.
"At three in the morning?" He whispered. I looked at the clock. I hadn't even noticed.
"Hermione and I split," I blurted out.
Blaise grabbed my hand and led me down to the common room.
"What do you mean? What happened?" He asked.
"I-I-I called her a Mudblood. She said something an I took it wrong and she got mad so I said the most hurtful thing I could and she just...exploded. I don't know...she was really mad. Hermione left the room after calling me a ferret and almost hitting me,". I confessed. It felt good to get off my chest.
"Mate, just apologize," he said. I looked at him.
"I can't apologize! She called me a ferret and almost hit me! Besides, it will make me look weak!" I protested. Maybe I shouldn't have drank those butterbeers before bed...
"You have to if you want her back! I doubt that Hermione Granger, the toughest girl I know, would apologize for calling you a ferret before you apologizing for calling her a Mudblood. She's been called that her whole life, and after all she's done, proving that a muggle born can do what lots of purebloods can't, I bet she's tired of being called that like it's an insult," he pointed out.
"Good night Blaise, I'll think about it," I went back to bed. Almost thinking to hard, I fell asleep.
