Y/N's POV:
"Hey guys," Cass stops us, the music fading as the recording had stopped.
We look at him through the glass.
"At the beginning of that part maybe do an in and out type thing. Like y'all both sing "we're still babies we don't have to know" then Y/N you stop as Alessia sings and kinda do it like that."
I give a thumbs up," gotcha chief."
Using my pointer finger, I make a circular motion so he can run that part back.
The music comes in, we wait a second, then sing.
And maybe, we're still babies
We don't have to know
We don't have to knowAnd maybe, we're still babies
We don't have to know
We don't have to knowAnd maybe, we're still babies
We got time to grow
We got time to growWoah oh oh oh, babies
Woah oh oh oh, babies
Woah oh oh oh, babies
Woah oh oh oh, babies
(Woah, babies)
(Babies, babies)The music fades out, the sound of little baby giggles and Alessia and I singing fading with it.
"Perfect. Come have a listen." Alessia's producer waves for us to come out the booth.
Alessia and I take the headphones off, hanging them on the stands in front of us, and leaving the booth.
We listen to the playback and our vocals sound amazing. Though some tweaking needs to be made to the music. So we all sit around for a couple hours messing around with the sound until we love it.
Cass and Alessia's producer tells us that they'll work on the masters and let us know when they're done.
I've been working on this song with Alessia for about three weeks now. In that time we've become great friends.
She's so down to earth and honest to god hilarious.
"Hey, I'm about to go grab lunch, you want to join me?"
I agree, having not eaten since 6 this morning.
We climb into a waiting car, ignoring the paps outside the label.
Sadly they've been causing some problems lately.
Basically, after the Billboard Awards, I've been getting offers left and right to collab with other artists. And even if I'm not singing or rapping on the song some of them have asked me to come in and help them make beats.
Two of the people I've collaborated with the most, have been Alessia and Normani.
Recording together for such long periods of time means we're spending a lot of time together. Sometimes we met up early at a coffee shop and then went into the studio. Or like now, we worked all morning and grabbed lunch.
The real problem arose when the media started accusing me of "stepping out" on Ariana. As of now I've made no statement, mainly because I refuse to speak to my asshole publicist/personal assistant(Maggie).
Also I haven't commented because Alessia's like a sister. Yes she's gorgeous but I can't see myself being with her in any way other than friends. And Normani, again absolutely gorgeous, no doubt about it, but I'm far from interested.
