Chapter 5: A Kid

Jolaizza

Well, eversince I hated cold treatment. I always end up ignoring them. And I don't want to ignore Zac for, just like what I've said, we'll be living in the same roof. That is kung sakali mang tinanggihan ko ang hiling niya.

And I'm glad that I didn't. Because lola was right, behind his rude and stubborn attitude is a nice and bubbly man... or kid.

"So sasama ako sayo bukas ng umaga?

I nodded as an answer. I was cooking our dinner for the night with him beside me, leaning on the kitchen sink as he whisper. I mean, I thought about it at baka nga magalit si lola.

Besides, a little white lie won't harm us, right? If it can make us live peacefully, than I'll go for it.

"Hmm, I guess that's fine with me. I guess it's not a bother." He smiled.

"Since you've been so kind to me and I really appreciate your cooperation, feel free to ask me questions." Anito.

"I mean, we're friends, right?" Bahagyang tumaas ang isang kilay ko sa tanong niya, "And it's the only thing I can do in return. I'm sorry, I can't treat you or gave money in return. My wicked sister took my credit cards and cut my access in my bank account." He sighed, feeling so lonely.

This man really thinks that money is everything, huh?

"For your information, I'm not asking anything from you."

"No! I mean, I didn't say that to offend you. That's just my way of thanking a friend." He defended.

Infact, it's best than giving money or gifts. He looked at me in awe, as if absorbing everything I've said. His chinky eyes held innocence like a child fascinated at the lesson he learned.

"I never thought of that." He suddenly smiled, "Thanks! And I'm sorry if I offended you."

Ngumiti ako at umiling, "Okay lang."

"But I still want you to ask me questions." And to make it fair, I'll ask some questions about you too. Consider it as a start for us being friends."

My lips rose at his last statement. So he really consider us as friends?

"Para saan pa? Eh, aalis ka lang naman." I stated a fact and chuckled.

"Kahit na! Malay mo naman magkita ulit tayo, diba?" He insisted.

I shook my head at his persistence. Well, at least I have that one fact about him.
