Breaking Free (Black Cousins)

Pure Christmas

Andromeda came back home for Christmas break, more like her aunt's home, this christmas they wanted to celebrate the successful engagement of all the Black children and the preservation of the pure bloodline for the next generation. After the first day of classes she had worked really hard to keep her helping of Ted with the understanding of the wizarding world a secret and devoted her time with Malcom and a witch named Cordelia Abbot, but once every week on random weekdays so no one would suspect, she would meet with Ted on the mysterious room on the seventh floor communicating with enchanted pieces of wood she asked from Molly Prewett a Griffindor girl a couple of years ahead who was good with charms.

Her cousin Sirius arrived from a visit to his partner's home, he looked strange, like he was relieved of being home, which was not normal as he normally dreaded being home, asking his mother constantly to let him go outside and play with the muggle boys. What ever the Carrows had done to him he was scarred, he went to hug his mother and then Andi and said to her ear "We need to talk, alone" and went up to his room.

Andromeda followed him.

"What's going on Siri are you ok? what do you want to talk to me about?"

"Is it true? that you talked to a muggle born during the train to Hogwarts?"

"yes, Ted Tonks, I met him at Diagon Alley while buying my wand and Malcom was nice to him so I decided I should be too, why is that important?"

"Did you really just give him the cold eye after that day? Answer me truthfully Andi please, you know me, I won't punish you or disregard you if your answer was anything other than yes"

"Not really, I still see him and help him adapt to our world, I just found a way to do it without my sister finding out, letting her think I don't talk to him anymore, i can't bring myself to insult him or any of those things she does"

"Can you present him to me?, when I enter school in 3 semesters"

"What? why?"

"I want to do something bad, something that would make the Carrows dislike me and make them not want me for their daughter anymore, I don't want to be part of that family, they are terrible people, they torture their own so they would fall into this weird agenda of fighting for the purity of blood and supremacy over muggles, for them is about far more than arranged marriages and a little mean word here or there, is about punishing the race responsible for destroying and contaminating the wizard pride, they are crazy Andi"

"Then tell your mom, you don't want to marry Diana, she'll find you someone else"

"No, I can't do that, when my mom hugged me today she told me that, she could see that the Carrows could tame her wild boy and turn him into a true Black, she wants me married into a family that can keep me under control, that can make me the proud crazy heir she wants for her family"

"but defying her orders so blatantly? that will leave you on the street, do something less drastic like befriending a blood traitor, a Weasley for example, and stay away from Diana and her cousins, then your mom will get the message"

"Thank you Andi, you're the best"

Both cousins went down stairs where all the families were reunited with 2 empty seats one next to Malcom and the other one next to Diana.

"Finally you two appear, come down dinner is almost ready and Kreacher better serve warm food to everybody" Walburga said.
you two talking about up there?" Regulus asked Sirius

"nothing much I had questions about Hogwarts and she had questions about the Carrows"

"To our proud and pure kids, the survival of the house of Black, let their blood stay pure and honor the wishes of our honorable school house be met by ridding magical world of those unworthy of practicing it"

Andi, Sirius and even Malcom and Diana seemed to be discontent after hearing the line as the four of them dreaded it for different reasons Andromeda had a secret muggleborn friend, Sirius felt trapped by his family's way, Malcom felt their believes to be too harsh and stupid, even if he wouldn't act on it that much, Diana had been tortured all of her life to believe it but she never found the logic in it.
