A week after Valentine's Day, Sirius went to talk to Andromeda, she looked, happier than normal, he thought this is what people met when they say someone was glowing, except for when they actually glowed, like some people after a prank with a modified version of the Lumos charm.
"Hey cos, why so happy?" He asked her
" why the question?" She asked back
"I don't know because you look like you've been hit by an eternal sunshine, does this have anything to do with you going back to the castle with Ted after the paint prank on Valentine's Day?" Sirius asked
"Maybe" she said
"On that Day you promised you were going to continue helping us with our animagus transformation, so will you?"
"Of course, consider it a thank you present for everything that happened that day"
"What exactly happened that day?"
"You want help or not"
"I do, but you can't stop me from being a considerate cousin"
"When have you ever been a considerate cousin Siri"
"I am considerate, sometimes, now will you tell me?"
"You need a mandrake leaf and put it in your mouth for a month"
"A month?"
"Yes a month between two full moons, if it falls or you swallow it you have to restart"
"Ok, then it's something about a potion?"
"Yes, you spit the leaf into a vial exposing it to the pure light of the full moon, and add some of your hairs, a teaspoon of silver dew that hasn't seen the sun or has been touched by human feet in 7 days and a hawk moth cocoon"
"Fascinating"
" leave the potion resting in a cool, dark and calm place undisturbed, until a lightning storm occurs"
"So we just wait until there is a lightning storm looking at the sky?"
"Nope but for now that is enough information, and you should be thinking on how you'll get those leaves"

After hours the four friends sneaked into the greenhouse, the next full moon was going to be soon and they didn't have time to loose, Peter was using James's invisibility cloak, while the rest of them were using invisibility spells, James made him promise that no harm would come to his cloak.
It was perfect , also they had special muggle ear coverers in case there were complications with the mandrakes, but the mission was cut short when Peter noticed McGonagall behind them and tripped over causing all of them to fall and loose the spells.
"Well if isn't our favorite prank quartet what were you up to tonight, huh?" The teacher said
"We were going to see if we could prank some Hufflepuffs tonight in their sleep" Sirius said, she of all teachers would kill them for what they were actually doing, so a little detention wouldn't hurt anyone and would save them from something even worse.
"An entire week of detentions for all of you, except on Friday and 10 points from Gryffindor from each of you"

A couple of days later in detention
"So what are we going to do to get those leaves ?" Peter said.
"James and I have talked about ways to sneak around the castle easier, without getting caught as much, and I have thought of a map, that can track down everyone in the castle so we can't get caught" Sirius said
"And how will we get a map to track everyone in the castle? with new students coming in every year, as well as new Defense Against The Dark Arts professors, no normal tracking spell can do that" Remus said
"well that is our challenge isn't it? we need it to track people and show their names, as well as change when new students and teachers come up, also if an unexpected visitor shows up" Sirius said
" we could track life signatures and mix it with a weak legilemens spell to read people's names" James said.
"but we don't know much of the castle, specially other houses common rooms and dorms" Peter said.
"ok, we will need to charm certain students from the different houses so that they can help us map the parts of the castle we don't have access to, once we get the full map we will add the tracking spell" James said

With the parchment where the map would be drawn in hand, James and Sirius searched for the perfect student to track Daisy Clark and Lloyd Millington were the Hufflepuffs chosen
"Rastria Dessinia" James and Sirius casted in their direction
they glowed softly as the spell reached them
" 2 down, 6 more to go" Sirius said
From their own house Frank Longbottom, and Alice Fortescue were chosen, from Slytherin, Severus and Narcissa were chosen, and for Ravenclaw, Diana Padmore and Johnatan Williams.
Slowly through the day they all saw how the different areas of the castle drew themselves even secret passages appeared to be revealed, and surely they would explore them
"Rastria Vitia Legilenom" Sirius casted as names started to appear across the map
" this is fantastic now, lets add our names to it, to sign it" James said
" what if someone finds it?"Remus said
"then we'll use our codenames" Sirius said
"what about a codename for the four of us as friends, I heard Lily calling us prank marauders when we spied on her on Valentine's Day, that would be a good name" James said
"Prank Marauders? Lily is a brilliant witch, but that is an awful name and a dead giveaway" Peter said
" I was thinking of just Marauders"
"that's better but the original problem still remains what if someone finds it they'll use it and keep it for themselves, or worse use it against us" Remus said once again
" I can use a concealing spell on it, so it only reveals itself by saying an special phrase of our choice" Sirius said.
" As an extra precaution I will make sure only we can see ourselves on the map" Remus said
