A Moment of Love

Sirius was having the best year of his life, he was finally free from his family and his friend group had grown larger, while the marauders were still a group of its own, he was enjoying spending time with the girls, specially Diana, she had changed a lot since they first met that summer day in his old house, playing Chess, trying to please him without going too far to do something that would not please her parents, sfraid of being punished if she made a mistake, now she was a free spirit, a sweet curious girl that enjoyed things that most people find boring, but she was fun and she made everything she talked about interesting.

"Sirius guess what?" James came in saying his face with the biggest smile he had ever had and James smiled a lot.

"What happened James you seemed to be struck by some happiness spell"Sirius said

"She said yes, Lily finally said yes, we're going out next Hogsmeade weekend" James said

"Well six years of trying finally paid off"

"I think is more of one year of not trying, but it finally happened"

On that weekend as James and Lily went on their date, Sirius decided to wonder around the castle in dog form and scared a great amount of students until he encountered Diana Padmore in one of the little inlet gardens inside the castle, reading a parchment with ancient runes on it and a book. As he got close to her, she just looked at him and rolled her eyes.

"Oh little Padfoot, you know it is rude to go around the castle scaring people, change back before you get the parchment wet with your sliva, this is a special parchment Sturgis sent me from the department of mysteries, I don't want for you to ruin it" Diana said.

As Sirius after checking no one could see them changed back into his human form and sat besides Diana.

"So what is the mystery parchment about? that is so important" Sirius asked.

"these are recordings of the origin of the Patronus charm, and the use of happiness to power concious magic, the writer seems to think that happiness can be harnessed in more spells than just conjuring a protective animal guardian, but it seems some people thought the Patronus itself was a useless spell as Dementors only guard Azkaban, so they didn't find a practical use for that kind of magic and didn't support the author's research, the parchment was found recently and the ministry once again found it useless so they were planning to sell it but my brother gave it to me" Diana said.

"And you plan on continuing the research of mystery patronus guy?" Sirius said.

"yes, and he is not mystery patronus guy, he had a name, Oddo Patronnen, you should have paid attention in history of magic" Diana said.

"no one pays attention to that class except for you" Sirius said.

"yes but I have made some progress I managed to create a rope out of Patronus energy, look"Diana said excited

"Especto Cordonium" Diana casted, as a group of silver strings came out of her wand and weaved together creating a rope that attached itself to Sirius's arm, as soon as the rope touched Sirius felt an inmense sense of joy and peace, before getting flashes of his happy memories and his memories with Diana.

Diana was thinking of the happiest moments of her life when she casted the rope and it got to Sirius's arm and suddenly her memories gave flashes of her memories with Sirius.

Suddenly the rope changed its color to turquoise and started to glow brighter while sparkles came out of it.

Diana pulled her thoughts away and the rope dissappeared.

"Sorry for that, that was weird, it didn't happen when I tried the spell with a tree branch, I should study the basics of the spell a little bit more before trying to use it again" Diana said.

"You're right that could be dangerous, magic changing colour is not normal... I should go scare some other students as a dog" Sirius said.

"Yeah, and I will keep studying" Diana said, as each headed their separate ways.

After a long day of dog scares, and that weird moment with Diana and her patronus rope, Sirius returned to the Griffindor common room to find James and Lily cuddled in the sofa in front of the fire place, looking at each other as if it was one of those muggle romantic movies. Sirius had imagined their date would go well but not that well, so he broke the tension.

"Wow you just had one date and now you're acting like the ending of a romance novel? did you give her a love potion James?" Sirius said

"Of course not, but it was a fantastic day, we went to the three broomstick then a stroll through the forest, it was pretty nice and Lily is even more incredible than I thought, and we may have kissed" James said.

"I shut you down all those times before, but I think we had our date at the right time, neither of us was ready before" Lily said

"Agreed my flower... what did you do all day Sirius?"James asked

"I went around scaring people as Padfoot" Sirius said.

"You didn't lick anyone like a crazy dog right?" Lily asked.

"No, I learned my lesson after what happened with you" Sirius said.

"But someone threw a spell on you because we saw this bright blue light coming from one of the garden inlets in the castle" Lily said again.

"That, had nothing to do with me" Sirius said as he left for the dorms.

"That sounds suspicious" Lily said.

"I prefer that he keeps to himself whatever trouble he got himself into today, I don't want him to ruin the day for us" James said.

The next day Sirius went with Remus and Peter to take breakfast as James was coming down with Lily.

But they all ate breakfast together as Peter rolled his eyes every time the new lovebirds acted extra romantic.

All the letters dropped by as Sirius got a letter from Andromeda

Dear Sirius

Ted and I are having a fantastic time in our honeymoon in America, we have seen a lot of Boston, we went to Niagara Falls and The Grand Cannyon, they gave us a tour of Ilvermorny and some of the offices of the MACUSA. But we also saw some amazing muggle landmarks and we went to one of those muggle attraction places, theme parks is what they are called, you would love those places, is like riding a broom at super speed with crazy twist and turns, too bad I couldn't get too much of the exitement as I have very exiting news Siri, I'm pregnant!!

And we are going back home soon we would want her to grow up in the same place we did, and the ministry only gave us permision for some time outside the country.
