A joke gone too far

Sirius was walking down from detention to meet his friends he got distracted looking at Diana, but suddenly moved his eyes to Severus who was looking further down the hall to a sick Remus, that git had been watching Remus for far too long, he needed to find out what he knew.

"Hey Snape, can I talk to you in private" Sirius said.

"what do you want Black, isn't it enough for you and your friends to play me any prank imaginable" Severus said.

"don't worry Severus, this actually about my friend Remus, I've noticed you have been watching him a lot lately" Sirius said.

"I have been suspecting, for months now that he is" Severus began.

"a werewolf?... yeah we know, its a very well kept secret and you can't tell anybody" Sirius said

"so you're not mad at me?" Severus asked as Sirius was thinking on how to get the troll for sticking his nose where it didn't belong, then genius struck if Snivellus wanted werewolves he was going to get werewolves.

"of course not, Lily just keeps telling us about how you're a good and brilliant wizard, actually would you like to see Remus transform?" Sirius asked

" I would love to, seeing the transformation of a werewolf is so rare and amazing" Severus said

" ok, so next full moon, meet me near the whomping willow, there is a tunnel there that leads to the shrieking shack, Remus transforms around the shack" Sirius said.

"wonderful, see you there Sirius" Severus said

Oh kid I got you so badly Sirius taught as he walked away

On the full moon Sirius met Severus in the place near the willow and guided him towards the tunnel, once well under the tunnel, he left him alone and went to tell James

"guess what James?"

"What Sirius"

"we're getting that Snape git the joke of a lifetime"

"what do you mean Padfoot?"

"he figured out Remus's secret and I decided to teach him a lesson of don't sticking out his nose where it doesn't belong"

" explain your self"

" I tricked him into going to the shack tonight, he is on his way there right now"

"WHAT?!!"

" as you heard me, he is going to get down for being to curious, have you heard the saying of curiosity killed the cat"

"you dummy, you're practically murdering him, we have to save him, come on"

James ran out of th common room and went to the tunnel to get Snape

James reached Severus

" Snape get out of here it is dangerous, Sirius was stupid enough to try to murder you" James sais

Severus followed him out of the tunnel

"Look Snivellus we don't like each other and that would never change, but I wouldn't just let you be killed like that, Sirius tought it was a practical joke to get you killed out of curiosity for Remus's condition, he wasn't surrounding the shack he was in the shack, you know what will happen if he was caught over the fact that he tried to murder you or turn you into a werewolf? our pranks are slightly unpleasant and reversible, whatever happened down there, would have been permanent" James said

"You selfish gits, I thought for once in your stupid brains, you were actually being kind to me that you had actually matured out of your silly prankster selves, but no, you just care about not getting into trouble for my possible death or lycanthrophy, I wish I would have actually turned into a werewolf so I could rip your heads out" Severus said angrily before running away.

Sirius and his friends were walking towards the common room the next day, Remus wasn't talking to him, he was mad that he almost made him attack and possibly kill another student, Sirius was thinking of a way to apologize when a fist came toward his face, he didn't have time to see who it was before tumbling to the ground. shortly after he could see james also on the floor. In front of them was Lily Evans with an angry look on her face she hit Sirius again.

"That is for almost killing my friend, you trolls, do you have any idea of what could have happened to him" she yelled.

"For the record I went and rescued him flower, so if you want to thank me with a kiss and/or possibly a date I would take it" James said

Lily slapped him in the face

"you did it to save your own gut git" she answered him

"it was a joke Lily, I was actually aware of the dire consequences, for him too, I am not a monster" James said

"did you actually think of how he was feeling at the moment for you to joke about something like that" Lily said

"I agree with Lily on this one, you really messed up, and none of you cared how I would feel if I had killed him? or worse, turned him? I wouldn't wish that onto anyone else, I have to deal with the pain of this curse every month, since I was 5, I wouldn't bear that I caused that pain to someone else. I enjoy playing pranks with you sometimes, but I would never ever allow my curse to play part in any of them" Remus said

James, Sirius and Peter just stared in confusion as Lily left and Remus went behind her.
