Doctor Son explained Hyunjin that she can come in for a check up tomorrow or the day after to see how the embryo develops.

Heejin didn't let go of Hyunjin's hand until they got in the car, the younger noticed how the older's face lit up in happiness, but the younger wasn't sure yet... About getting pregnant. She didn't want to destroy Heejin's dreams but what if...?

The next days they couldn't see each other much, Heejin was very busy with work as well as her husband, Hyunjin tried her best in college and she was getting good grades, she almost forgot about the whole deal of getting pregnant. When she came home she always received calls from the hospital saying that her mother was doing fine and she's already gotten the surgery and it all went well.

Of course Hyunjin was very happy but she contained the urge to visit her mother. So then she started feeling lonely, very lonely. At any time she could, she would invite her friends to her house to spend the weekends or just a few hours. She had forgotten about the check ups with the gynecologist because she wasn't having any symptoms it was just like every other days in her life.

A Sunday afternoon Heejin called her asking how was she, Hyunjin said everything was okay to what Heejin replied "And the baby?" And the younger snapped.

It's just been a week since the insertion it can't be possible that she's supposed to be pregnant now... right? She invented excuses to Heejin and hung up. She called Vivi saying that it was an emergency.

A few hours later Vivi arrived to Hyunjin's house, she explained that she was going to do a pregnancy test in that moment. Hyunjin quickly went to the bathroom and read the instructions, she waited for a few seconds and went out, Vivi stood up from the sofa and noticed how the younger held the test in disbelieve

—What's wrong Hyunjin? Are you okay? —Vivi asked worried

—V-Vivi... I am... I am not pregnant. —Hyunjin never looked more terrified.

She held the test that indicated negative, she let some tears drop on it, she started shaking and let her legs fall on the ground. Vivi tried to comfort her by hugging her tightly but Hyunjin kept crying non stop.

Now it's all for nothing, she really couldn't make Heejin's dreams come true. She felt like a piece of shit for lying with a smile on her face.

—Hyunjin, let's go to your gynecologist tomorrow morning okay? Maybe she can give you answers or a test that's more accurate —Vivi suggested

—Why would we go? I know I'm not pregnant and I lied to someone I feel miserable, fuck —Hyunjin couldn't look up to Vivi in the eyes.

Vivi has a strong character and she would tell her friends everything directly, with no filters. She told Hyunjin that she shouldn't give up right now, maybe the urine test is not accurate. And if it's not possible to get her pregnant she should tell Heejin the truth.

And that night the younger could not fall asleep. How can she crush the hopes Heejin had on her like this. She's useless, pathetic and a liar. That's all she was.

As Vivi had planned they went to the appointment and got checked by Dr. Son, who was very serious as didn't speak a word when she was examining Hyunjin. She returned to her desk and sighed, Vivi hopes it wasn't anything bad but seeing the doctor's facial expression was enough.

—Miss Kim I'm afraid that you're not fertile. The embryo I put inside was shed and this is not an uncommon thing in these types of processes. Normally when you bleed from your period it can shed the egg. But Miss Kim have you had complications in your period this or last month?

—Um... I stared being irregular and a lot of menstrual cramps that I didn't have before that's all I guess. —Hyunjin spoke softly

—I'm afraid we'll have to do more tests because I'm suspecting you are infertile. We could try again by implanting another embryo so we'll have to talk with Mr and Mrs Jeon. —The doctor started to write down in a paper when Hyunjin interrupted

—No! Please don't tell them... —the doctor looked up— If I'm not fertile after I do all of the tests. Myself will tell them that I can't have their kid.

Vivi stared at her friend, she knew she could not do it and with a straight face she told that to the doctor. She felt sorry for Hyunjin... because she's got herself in a heavy situation.

The next day she made a blood tests and by the afternoon the results were ready. And yes it was official. She was infertile.

She had been avoiding Heejin's calls and texts because she was afraid of this outcome, she felt like the worst liar in the planet, she didn't want to face Heejin and make her sad... She would tell Hyunjin "I trusted you!" And finally not wanting to see her again.

She was not going to let that happen, she loved Heejin too much to see her cry and down, she knew the older suffers from depression and over Hyunjin's dead body she'll go through that again. She wanted to make Heejin happy and that's final.
