—We need to talk, Hyunjin.
Heejin had decided that it was time to just resolve this between them so they can move on.
Hyunjin was still speechless, but came inside, around her there were a lot of shelves, boxes and cleaning stuff, old clothes, but no sight of cribs or stuffed animals. Everything was so depressing.
She looked at Heejin standing there in the middle, it seemed as if this room represented her feelings.
—I want to apologize to you, that day when I read the note I felt so many emotions that I didn't filter my words. I felt betrayed and lied to, especially when you lied to me about being pregnant. It was my dream, I wanted to be a mother more than anything in this world. But now that I've cooled my head it's okay you had your reasons and I'm here to listen to them, Hyunjin. —Heejin turned her head towards the younger, that had her eyes glued to the ground.
—First of all... you don't need to apologize for anything the one that really begs for your forgiveness here is me. I had no money, my mom was sick and she was the only one that provided, I got a job but it wasn't enough. I read that surrogate mothers get paid really well but I was a Virgin the agency wouldn't accept me that way so I lied to them. Later on I met you with the objective of getting money but as time went by and I got to know you better, I fell in love and the only thing that mattered was to make you happy so I lied for the second time. So forgive me Heejin. Forgive me for saying rude things and screaming at you. —Hyunjin got down on her knees and bowed.
Heejin looked at her with tears in her eyes, she got closer to her and also kneeled down, asking her to stand up, when she did so, Hyunjin was already crying her heart out. Her eyes were red as well as her nose. Heejin didn't hesitate to throw her arms around her, giving Hyunjin the tightest hug.
—I got to know about your mom yesterday, I'm so sorry. And... I forgive you. We all do things out of pure desperation. Don't say you're a horrible person and live with that all your life, this is just a chapter that needs to be closed so we can continue on. —Hyunjin hugged back. She was wetting Heejin's shirts but she didn't care, Hyunjin had been holding on so many emotions it was time to let everything go.
—I dropped out of college, I lost contact with my friends.
Hyunjin remembered Yerim, Vivi and Jungeun... They must've been so worried when she stopped going to classes and the worst thing was that she changed numbers so they won't contact her.
—Promise me, that when you leave this house, you won't run away anymore, get your friends back and do whatever you'd love to do, whether it's college or something else I'll help you with the money you need. —Heejin softly said, but Hyunjin broke the hug and both looked into each other's eyes.
—So... you're telling me we can't be together?
Heejin remained silent for a few seconds before answering.
—It's not the right time for us to be together Hyunjin. I hope you can understand that we're both dealing with many things at once, I recently got divorced and you need to get your life together.
Hyunjin thought about it, and she was right. It's not the time to return to their previous relationship, it's better to just start off from zero.
The redhead smiled and Heejin kissed her forehead.
—I'll be waiting, Heejin. Until then... you're not allowed to fall in love with anybody else.
—How can I fall in love with someone else when I have you in my mind 24/7?
—Mmmm... great point.
Hyunjin laughed but was interrupted by Heejin's lips clashing with hers, it was soft kiss, almost calming, securing their promise and hopes to get together some day...
