Hyunjin tried to stay calm while she walked to her friend's apartment, once she stood there in front of the door she hesitated, but she didn't want to go home so she knocked.
Ryujin opened the door and quickly made her come inside, she looked so worn out she got worried. Hyunjin stay there in the living room watching how her friend picked up her backpack and put it in her bedroom, she offered her water and sat down on one of the sofas.
She told Ryujin what has just happened, she didn't have any tears left to cry, she felt dry and emotionless. The short haired girl suggested that she should take a nap and so she did, after all she would forget if she just closed her eyes.
A few hours later, Ryujin was watching tv when Hyunjin's phone rang, she picked it up and it was from the hospital, her mother had died peacefully sleeping. More and more sad news, Ryujin didn't know if she should tell her right now that she's probably devastated.
Heejin was still lying down on the floor when the front door opened, fuck don't tell me it's Minju she thought.
She got down and yes he was. He wore a stupid smile plastered on his face as he entered his bags.
—I came back! Wow what happened? Did you get your period? —He jokingly said but Heejin was not in the mood.
—No, asshole. Where have you been? —she crossed her arms waiting for a lie.
—Hawaii. Listen babe we need to talk.
—Yeah because we haven't really talked in years and now it's a great time. —Heejin let herself fall on one of the couches still kinda angry.
Her husband did the same and both stared at each other. Minju could tell she was waiting for something.
—Okay so-
—I know you're cheating on me and I want a divorce. You can keep this house because I don't want it I'll be back into my mom's. —Heejin said.
—Heejin, are you sure you want a divorce? I know you hate having to do these types of things that involve papers and stuff.
—I want to, you're a piece of shit and I wouldn't like to be married to you. Just go to your lover's arms I really don't care.
—I mean... Are you okay? Did something happen? What about the baby?
—Hyunjin, she's not pregnant. End. Now leave or I'll leave I want to be alone.
Minju saw how her eyes were sadder than ever, he didn't ask anymore questions because she won't answer them. He took his things and left without looking back. When the door clicked Heejin started crying again.
Oh her life has become a mess. And she wondered if it was all her fault. Maybe.
She went outside to the garden and looked at the amaranth Hyunjin gifted to her, then the roses that she was so excited to grow now looked withered and dead. With her bare hands she ripped them off of the ground, and even the amaranth.
Heejin was troubled, she didn't know why she was like this. She expected things to well this time, she thought Hyunjin was the one, she thought Hyunjin loved her back she thought they could create a beautiful family together.
But all of that came down in a matter of seconds.
She went inside and took a bottle of wine in her hands, she then went to the kitchen and looked at the food Hyunjin made. It was cold now. She threw it all to the trash and sat down there staring at the empty table and the empty seats sipping directly from the bottle.
Hyunjin was resting when she woke up at 1am, she had a nightmare and Ryujin was sleeping beside her, she got scared at the sudden movement from the other side of the bed. When she turned around, and Hyunjin was shedding tears once again.
"Ryujin... My mom died?"
She realized her nightmare must've meant something, and when her friend said yes it all made sense.
Weeks passed, Hyunjin was working on her usual waitress shift while Ryujin worked on opening her own dance academy. Hyunjin never went back to her old house. She was fine living with her friend.
She dropped out of the university for now because she couldn't pay her subjects anymore, the money she earned was enough to eat the both of them. She thought this lifestyle was more calm than her previous one.
She was very happy and getting over so much shit together with Ryujin, who supported her wholeheartedly.
Meanwhile Heejin was going downhill. She hadn't gone to work for a whole week, her friends came in to check how she was and found her lying on the kitchen floor, she had drank until she lost consciousness.
Her own company was not in a good position, during her disappearance the stocks had went straight up to the ground, the company had started to lose it's good reputation and her mother called her million times to ask her what the fuck was going on.
After getting some rest at the hospital and having a long talk with her mother she got into her heels again and took the lead of the company once again but she couldn't fix a whole week of losses in one day hell no, it took at least a month of full work from 6am to 9pm no rests.
During that month the divorce papers were signed and both parts agreed so it was fast, unfortunately the house was under Heejin's mom name so she had to keep it. She made some changes around it, the baby room was turned into a closet, the garden was scratched from the start and only planted green plants, no more flowers.
Hyunjin was also moving on, and living a peaceful life, she started to teach herself how to sing and play instruments, she's a quick learner so she didn't have any problems.
One hot afternoon both girls were laying down on the sofas eating popsicles and watching a boring movie, well Ryujin was on her phone watching youtube videos when suddenly Hyunjin's phone rang
"Dragonie, can you pick up? who is it?" Hyunjin asked Ryujin with that weird nickname she gave her when she was a kid, she groaned and saw the phone's screen before looking into Hyunjin's eyes.
"It's Heejin"
