Savi was unable to give Kaura any more information about the resistance or Jedi. He simply just made lightsabers. So Kaura thanked him over a dozen times and they parted ways.
Kaura had no idea what to do.
There must have been a resistance somewhere out there, but she had no idea how to find it. At all of the hundreds of planets she had been to, she had secretly hoped to find them and never did.
Kaura already had an agenda planned out to set up a shop and start selling her smuggled goods, but right now she didn't even care about any of that. She decided to just do the next thing on her list that didn't involve that for now.
Therefore Kaura figured now was a good time to rebuild her droid. The last time her ship had been stopped, most parts of her droid had been confiscated. Luckily she still had the head. She also still had the personality chip, which was most important. When she traveled, Kaura kept the chip hidden in her bra. No matter what body her droid had, if she had the personality chip, it was the same robot.
Even though droids were banned, Kaura heard there was a droid depot somewhere on the planet. She walked around until she finally found it. She would get the parts there to rebuild her droid.
When Kaura walked in, there was actually a long line to build a droid. She figured that was a popular thing to do there.
As she waited in line, Kaura tried to peak around at what parts were available and how much it would cost. They had both R2 and BB units. Kaura decided that she would build a R2 because that's the unit she already had a head for and she preferred it anyway.
Kaura really liked the body she had before because it was all purple, but at least she had the head which was still purple. There weren't any purple bodies here though, so she'd have to pair it with a white or black one.
Kaura got close enough to the front of the line to read the signs and saw that building a droid was 99 credits. She winced.
It was a lot of money, but Kaura was still going to do it. Kaura's droid (which she had named 5t-4r), was her only companion in the universe. She wanted him back as soon as possible.
When Kaura got to the front of the line she paid and quickly went to go rebuild her droid. She gathered all the parts which were going by on a coveter belt. She went with a white body and black legs for the new droid. She found it funny that she now had a purple droid and a purple lightsaber. It was her favorite color after all.
Kaura walked to a station and quickly put her droid back together. It didn't take her long since she had built droids on her own many times before. As soon as the droid was all built, Kaura popped the personality chip in and activated the droid.
Kaura couldn't help but feel a spark of joy and relief as her droid turned on. She had a strong attachment to her little robot and had missed him.
Kaura had actually seen people walk around freely with their droids so she wasn't too worried about hers getting taken, but just to be extra safe so she kept 5t-4r in her bag. She wasn't going to risk loosing him while he was all in one piece like that.
Now that that was all done, Kaura decided that she was going to make it her mission to find the resistance. She went back to the shops to look for anything else with the resistance symbol on it. Kaura couldn't go back to that original booth because she had freaked the lady there out.
This time Kaura searched the free standing shops. There had to be something.
As Kaura went from store to store, she kept fiddling with the stone in her hand in hopes that someone else would notice it like Savi did. She wished she had some kind of jewelry like her mother did because that would be much easier to display and way more effective.
At the third store she visited, Kaura was discouraged but not willing to give up yet. She had been looking in stores for hours.
While searching through the merchandise at this store, she noticed a man talking to one of the store workers in a hushed voice.
The resistance is something you wouldn't want people to overhear you talk about, right?
Kaura thought she could have been reading into it too much, but she decided to eavesdrop anyway. She pretended to look through a rack of robes right by where the man was talking. It was hard to make out what they saying; She could only understand every few words that were exchanged and she didn't have a clue what they were discussing.
It was starting to get to the point where it was weird for Kaura to be looking at the same sets of robes over and over for so long. She hoped the two men wouldn't notice her.
Kaura had heard the conversation stop and was going to glance over to see what was going on in a few seconds. However, Kaura did not make it that far.
"Anything interesting over here?" A voice said from next to her.
Kaura jumped and the man next to her chuckled. She was so focused on acting like she was looking at robes, that she didn't realize someone had approached her. Kaura looked over and was even more shocked to see that it was the man she had been eavesdropping on.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." He said with a small smirk. It didn't come off as rude though, somehow.
"Oh no, it's okay." Kaura said trying her best to act normal.
She didn't want him to know she was listening. What if he was discussing something illegal? What lengths would he go to keep something unknown? Kaura was also embarrassed.
After seeing the man up close, Kaura had noticed that he was quite handsome. He had olive skin and dark hair with a slight wave to it; It was messy in a good way. What made him really attractive though was this charm he had about him. This wasn't helping Kaura act calm and natural. She didn't often interact with hot guys.
"My names Poe, by the way." He introduced himself. "Poe Dameron."
