Poe

Poe had went to a store by the resistance base because he needed uniforms made for some of the new trainees. Normally he wouldn't trust anyone to do this, but this store owner didn't ask many questions and seemed to mind his own business.

"So what do you say?" Poe asked the store owner.

He was asking a lot of the store, but he was willing to pay whatever it would cost. The resistance had some funds saved up.

"Let me see what we can do." The store owner replied. "I'll look at how much material we have back here."

"Okay, thank you so much." Poe responded politely. Charm was key.

Poe stood there by the counter, bored. He had a short attention span. He looked over and saw a woman looking at the robes very intently. She was staring at the robes as if the answers to the universe's greatest questions might be written on them somewhere. Something about that intrigued Poe.

As he observed the woman more, he realized she was very pretty. She had beautiful long brown hair and from what he could see, a very pretty face. It was hard because she wasn't facing him.

Poe decided to stop being a weird peeping creep and go talk to the woman. There was just something about her.

He walked up to her but she was staring at the robes so intensely that she didn't notice him. Poe tried to think of a way to start a conversation without being weird.

"Anything interesting over there?"

The girl jumped and it was very apparent she had been surprised by Poe coming up to her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you." Poe said.

Poe actually felt bad that he creeped up on her like that, so he played it off with a smirk.

"Oh no, it's okay." The woman stuttered, obviously embarrassed by her reaction.

Poe was able to see the woman's face better now, and she was in fact beautiful. She had this classic beauty to her while still being unique and captivating. The woman also had beautiful big brown eyes that drew Poe in. He wanted to know what was behind them.

Poe had realized they were starting off on the wrong foot, so he introduced himself to ease the tension.

"My name's Poe, by the way." He said. "Poe Dameron."

"Kaura," the woman said simply.

She reached out her hand, but instead of shaking it, Poe kissed it lightly. Girls loved it when he did that.

"It's very nice to meet you." Poe said, making sure to look into her eyes as he said it.

"Uh, thanks." Kaura said seeming to be caught off guard. Her face reddened and Poe smiled with satisfaction.

Kaura didn't know what to think of this guy, but continued the conversation cautiously. She wanted to see where this was going to go.

She thought it was strange that Poe had kissed her hand, but maybe that was just a custom from wherever he was from. She surely didn't mind it.

Kaura just wished she wasn't so awkward around attractive guys. She just never understood guys in general. Was this guy flirting with her? And if he was, was it because that's just what he does or is it because he was hitting on her. Why did he come up to her in the first place?

Kaura fiddled with the stone in her hand nervously. This caught Poe's attention.

"Oh, you're part of the resistance?" Poe asked, looking down at the stone.

"No." Kaura answered quickly.

She was technically telling the truth, but her sudden response made it seem like she was lying.

Poe just laughed.

"No, it's okay. You don't have to lie to me." Poe said. "Don't you know who I am?"

"No?" Kaura said slowly this time.

Poe looked confused.

"You're not like a trainee or something?" He asked.

"No, I told you I'm not in it. I just have the rock." Kaura said. "Why, are you?"

"I guess you could say that." Poe chuckled.

Kaura felt a pang of hope when he said that, but she had to be sure.

"It's a yes or no question." Kaura said, coming off ruder than she intended. She just really wanted a real answer.

"Okay, then yes." Poe said. Kaura heard some annoyance in his tone.

They were both quiet for a short moment, neither knowing what to say before Poe spoke up again.

"Why do you carry that around then?" He said pointing at the stone.

Kaura dropped her tough guard down so she could level with him.

"I've been looking for the resistance for years." She said finally, staring at the ground.

"Well, I guess you found it." Poe said.

Kaura looked up quickly. Was this the moment she had been waiting for?

"Would you like to join?" Poe asked her genuinely. There was no sarcasm in his voice anymore. "I'm pretty high up."

"Uh, yes. Please, um that'd be great I-uh" Kaura stammered. She didn't know what to say.

"It's a yes or no question." Poe teased.

"Yes." Kaura said finally. She couldn't help but smile.

"Great," Poe smiled back. "Allow me to-"

"Wait.." Kaura stopped him. "There's something you should know first."

Poe raised an eyebrow at her. She sighed, trying to think of the best way to explain this to him. She figured she would just show him.

First Kaura looked around. There was no one else in the store besides the guy Poe had been talking to, but he was still in the back somewhere.

Once she knew the coast was clear, Kaura made a hat on a shelf next to them levitate in their direction.

Poe was very confused at first, but once he saw the hat his eyes widened. It was Kaura's turn to shock him.

"Are you...doing that?"

Kaura rolled her eyes involuntarily.

"No," she said sarcastically. "Your mom is."

Kaura winced how unnecessarily sassy she was being. She didn't mean it. It was just a reflex for her.

"Sorry," she said. "Yes that's me."

She looked around again before opening her bag and flashing her lightsaber to him. Poe's eyes got even wider.

"We need to talk... somewhere else." Poe said very seriously.
