Kaura took a moment to decide, but ultimately agreed to have Savi help her build a lightsaber. He set her up at a work station at his table and stood next to her to guide her.

"I'm going to get some scrap metal for you to use." Savi told Kaura as he brushed the dust off her work station with his hand.

"Wait," Kaura said as Savi was about to walk away. He stopped to listen. "Can I use some of my own too?"

"Of course," Savi said. "What do you have to work with?"

Kaura plopped the bag she had been carrying on the table in front of them and opened it up.

Kaura collected scrap metal so she could build lots of the objects she sold herself. To be able to travel with banned objects, Kaura usually broke them up into pieces then reassembled them later. That way if a storm trooper or anyone from the First Order checked her ship or her bag, all they'd see was a bunch of junk.

Most of Kaura's pieces were back on her ship, but she liked to carry some on her to show people what her business was. There were also some valuable pieces that Kaura always kept on her person.

Kaura dug through the bag looking for some of the specific pieces she wanted to use. Savi watched from over her shoulder.

"That's quite the collection you've got." Savi commented.

"Thanks," Kaura mumbled as she was focused on finding the parts she was looking for.

Finally Kaura had fished out everything she wanted and she laid all her pieces out and pushed her bag to the side. Most of the pieces Kaura had picked out were just some of her favorites that she had acquired from her travels, but one piece was especially important to her. Kaura knew lightsabers were supposed to be an extension of yourself, so she wanted to make her's as personal as possible.

"Let me have a look." Savi said and Kaura stepped aside to let him examine her pieces.

Savi picked up each individual piece and observed it closely.

"These are very nice." Savi noted. "And they'll compliment each other very well."

Most of the pieces were silver with golden accents. One of Kaura's favorite objects that she had were gold pieces that almost looked like triangular leaves.

But one piece stood out to Savi the most. Pieces of a cylinder with mysterious carvings on it. The interest he had in them was very evident on Savi's face and he quickly picked it up and looked at it carefully.

"Where did you get this?" Savi asked Kaura slowly, without taking his eyes off the object.

"It belonged to my mother." Kaura said quietly.

In fact it was one of the only few possesions of her mother that Kaura had. She didn't even know what it was. Kaura just found it like it was and kept it. Maybe that was why Kaura learned how to tinker and became so obsessed with random scraps of metal.

Savi could tell Kaura's mother was a sensitive topic for her, so he didn't press her any further.

"This looks like ancient Jedi texts.." Savi said running his finger along the carvings.

Kaura leaned in closer to hear anything Savi might have to say about the pieces of metal. She desperately craved any new information about the metal or her mother.

"I couldn't tell you what it says, though." Savi said. "It's too old."

Kaura nodded. She was slightly disappointed Savi couldn't tell her more, but she appreciated the little bit of information he was able to provide. It at least brought her a little closer to figuring some things out.

Savi gently placed the mysterious pieces of metal back on the table.

"These pieces will work, but we'll need to combine them with some basic parts." He said. Kaura nodded.

Savi brought out some other pieces and the two  began to put everything together. First Kaura made sure her mother's pieces got used, and those worked perfectly on their own. Then she used Savi's parts to connect everything together. They were able to attach the gold leaves to some of the other parts and Kaura was able to use most of the pieces she had pulled out.

Once everything was done, Kaura held the finished product in her hands and admired it. She really loved how it turned out.

Kaura needed a moment to take everything in. Within minutes, her entire belief system had changed. Believe it or not, Kaura had actually dreamed of this moment as a kid. That was before life had sucked all the optimism out of her. But this was truly was going to be a moment of truth for her.

Savi stood there patiently, knowing a lot must have been running through Kaura's mind. If everything he had said was true, her life was about to change forever.

"Well, go ahead and try it out." Savi told her.

Kaura gave it go, and watched a purple blade of light emerge from her hilt. Kaura's jaw dropped out of shock and amazement. She hadn't been fully convinced until then.

Kaura swung the sword around a couple times, then just stared at it in awe. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"A violet blade," Savi said, finally speaking up. "That's very rare."

He was smiling, but he wasn't in shock. He had no doubt the entire time.

Kaura looked over at Savi and he could tell that she wanted to know more.

"A man named Mace Windu wielded a Violet lightsaber." Savi informed her. "No one is exactly sure what it means, but it is very uncommon. Blue, green, and red are seen most often."

Kaura sensed there was something about violet lightsabers that Savi wasn't telling her. Something that made him anxious. But she was too caught up in her own excitement that she didn't dwell on it for long.

Kaura went back to staring at the lightsaber. The color from the light was so vibrant, it was enchanting to look at. None of this seemed real life to her. Without thinking, Kaura reached out her free hand to touch the blade.

Savi swatted her hand away.

"What are you doing?!"

"I wanted to see if it was real." Kaura answered quietly.

"Of course it's real!!" Savi said, exasperated. "Here, you wanna see if it's real?"

Savi walked out of the room then returned with a fruit and placed it on the table.

"Try it out." Savi said, stepping back.

Kaura grabbed the hilt of her lightsaber with both hands and swung at the fruit. The blade sliced it in half effortlessly.

"See why you shouldn't touch it?" Savi asked her. Kaura gulped and nodded.

Kaura stared at the purple light for a little longer before retracting it.

"What...now?"
