"That was excellent Charmander!" I praised him as he pulled off Smokescreen perfectly, a move he had just learned how to use.
Charmander crossed his arms & looked up at me proudly.
"Cocky much?" Brandon teased. "I wouldn't be talking if I were you," I rolled my eyes at him.
Brandon & I had been training the entire afternoon. "Maybe we should take a break & eat," I suggested. "Vulpix!" Amber seemed to really like the idea. I got some canned Pokemon food for all of our Pokemon. They seemed so hungry, they all ate their food quickly.
I was proud of my team, we had put in a lot of hard work today. "I'm proud of you guys," I made sure to let them know. They happily cheered, & Charmander just kinda nodded his head in a cool way. I pulled out a sharpie & began to draw on my Pokeballs. On Charmander's, I drew a lizard enveloped in flames. On Bulbasaur's, I drew a bulb similar to the one of Bulbasaur's back, & a bunch of vines coming out of it.
"What are you doing?" Brandon had been watching me. I explained to him about how my brother had a habit of drawing on his Pokeballs so he wouldn't mistake them, & Brandon liked the idea so much, he drew on his Pokeballs too. "Cool idea," he smirked as he drew something.
After our meal, Brandon got up. "I think we should challenge Brock now," he got up & adjusted his sweater. "Brandon, take a break for once!"
"No! I need this badge!"
"We should train a little more."
"Not neccessary."
After going on & on for the next ten minutes, I won the arguement, for the first time. We went to the museum in Pewter City to look around. We saw lots of fossils in glass cases, from Kanto Pokemon like Kabuto, to Sinnoh Pokemon like Shieldon. I was always fascinated by fossils. In fact, my brother even had a fossilized Pokemon. It was an Omanyte. He even explained to me how scientists revived them. They used some short of special ray on the fossil. "Imagine I had an Omastar?" Brandon admired the helix fossil on display. "I'd beat Brock for sure!"
As we looked around the displays, we heard a sudden crash. "Hey!" we heard a voice yell. We turned & saw a man wearing all black carrying a big backpack running out of the museum.
"Someone please! Stop that thief!" I looked at Brandon, shooting him a look that said 'we gotta do something'. He rolled his eyes & we immediatley began to run after this thief guy. He seemed to be running towards Viridian Forest.
"We can't go back in there!" Brandon yelled as he slowed down but I ignored him & continued to run after this guy. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, not caring if Brandon followed or not, which it didn't seem like he did.
The thief was pretty close, so I took this opportunity to use Bulbasaur's vines to stop this thief. Bulbasaur brought him close to us & he struggled, but couldn't break free.
"Give me what you stole," I demanded in a cold shrill voice. The man said nothing. He only shook his head. He was somehow able to reach into his pocket & threw a Pokeball.
A big blue duck popped out. Golduck. "Use Zen Headbutt!" the thief instructed & just like that, Bulbasaur was knocked aside & the thief was let free.
"Use Leech Seed now!" I took this opportunity to ensure that Bulbasaur could continue to regain his health, because I knew Golduck was more powerful & without this move Bulbasaur wouldn't stand a chance. I saw Leech Seed beginning to take effect, as Golduck cried out.
"Confusion!" It was hard for me to see Bulbasaur being thrown aside like a rag doll by this giant duck. "Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur extended his vines out. "Aqua Jet." Before Bulbasaur could hit, Golduck quickly propeled himself in the air with water surroundimg him & slammed into my poor Pokemon.
"No!" I ran to Bulbasaur. "Bulbasaur! Are you alright?" I asked worriedly. He gave me a weak nod & I reatreated him. I didn't have time to let it sink into my head that I had lost my first Pokemon battle, because the thief ran again.
"Come back here!" I again chased after him. He wasn't very fast, because he was a big man, but he was still faster than I was. We reached the same dead end that Brandon & I had reached before when Gary's massive Arcanine saved us.
The man stopped & let out Golduck again, preparing to fight me. I let out Charmander & just as all seemed lost, I saw a Beedrill harmlessly fly by. A smile curled onto my lips. I had the perfect idea.
I looked at Charmander & I already knew what he was thinking. He positioned himself just a few feet in front of the Beedrill, who was hovering over a bush. "Use Water Pulse!" If Golduck's attack hit, Charmander would be done for sure.
"Move now!" At my command, Charmander ran to my side & Water Pulse missed, hitting the Beedrill, who was soaking wet. Similar to the time Brandon attacked it, the Beedrill began to buzz around, calling its friends.
I ran up to the man, punched him in the face once, making him stumble backwards, & took the backpack from his hands. Golduck stood in my way now, staring me down.
Suddenly, he was attacked by Charmander, who had used Scratch on him by suprise. The attack didn't do much, but it distracted Golduck enough for us to get away.
I heard the man scream as I heard a farmilar loud buzzing noise. With the backpack on my back & Charmander in my hands, I escaped. I was able to make it out of Viridian Forest within 15 minutes, & headed to the Pokemon Center first to heal my Pokemon.
After that, I went back to the museum where the cops were. As I walked in, everyone turned to look at me, I even recognized Brandon waiting there. When he saw me, his eyes went wide. I walked up to the scientist wearing a white coat & purple hair. "I believe these belong to you?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow. I was shocked by a hug squeezing me rightly.
The scientist was... Hugging me?
"Oh thank you so much!" he cried happily. Turns out there were lots of fossils in the bag, & the thief had stolen them.
"I don't know how I could ever thank you two!" the scientist asked Brandon & I, even though he didn't do any of the work. "You can give us a fossilized Pokemon & we'll be equal," Brandon winked. I punched his arm.
"Well... Are you two Pokemon trainers? Do you have your trainers license?" We showed it to the guy & he pulled us away into a room at the far back of the museum.
The room had fossils laying around, & a big laser gun looking thing in the middle. "Are you really gonna give us a Pokemon?" Brandon asked with his voice full of hope. "It's the least I can do. Do you know what fossil was in that bag?" the scientist raised a eyebrow at us. We shrugged.
"That bag contained the only 3 Aerodactyl fossils we have. Do you know how rare that Pokemon is? In the past 15 years, we have only been able to come across these 3 Aerodactyl fossils. If it weren't for you, those 15 years would have gone to waste!" he chanted.
He showed us a small glass container with fossils inside. "Are you gonna give us an Aerodactyl?" Brandon asked. He was smirking huge. The scientist shook his head,"Unfortunately I can not. I can, however, give you these two fossils, & revive them for you within a few days. We have a claw fossil, & a dome fossil."
"So... Kabuto & Anorith?" I asked. The scientist smiled. "You sure know your fossils. Go ahead & pick the one you want, miss." I thought about which Pokemon I would want. A Kabuto? Or an Anorith? Kabutops, or Armaldo? I liked both Pokemon, but could only have one. It was so hard to pick.
"I want the dome fossil," I decided with haste. Brandon looked at the claw fossil in front of us. "It's no Aerodactyl... But it'll do," he nodded happily.
The scientist guy explained that we come back in two days for our Pokemon. We headed back to the Pokemon Center to spend the night there. Me & Brandon ate cookies & watched tv until we drifted off to sleep together.
