After two days, like the scientist wanted, Brandon & I picked up our newest Pokemon from the museum. We spent the entire rest of the week training our Pokemon.
Our Pokemon didn't learn any new moves, but they did get stronger. We battled against new trainers, winning most battles. Our new Pokemon were starting to grow accustom to us & our other Pokemon.
Everything seemed right. We even supringly spent another week of pure training, & after that we decided that it was time to challenge Brock.
I woke up the morning I was scheduled to challenge Brock & couldn't find Brandon. He stormed through the door only minutes later, bragging about his victory at the gym & how he defeated Brock easily.
It was my turn now. I headed to the gym after breakfast, & had a small talk with my team before we entered the gym. "Are you ready?" I questioned. I had them line up beside each other, similar to the way soldiers did. They all assured me they were ready. They were full of enthusiasm. My Charmander was especially excited for his first gym battle.
"We will defeat Brock won't we? & earn our first badge!" I screamed in triumph & my Pokemon all cheered. "Alright guys, let's do this!" Brock said we would have a two on two Pokemon battle. I had decided on using my Bulbasaur as he let out his Geodude. Bulbasaur seemed spyched about fighting Geodude. He growled & narrowed his eyes at our opponent.
"Geodude use Tackle!" Brock started off simply. "Use Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur knocked Geodude aside with a powerful Vine Whip. I smiled, our training had paid off. "Again!" Since Vine Whip was our only grass move, we resorted to using that most of the battle. Bulbasaur was hit a few times by Tackle's & Rock Throw's but he stayed strong & one final Vine Whip took Geodude out.
Our next opponent was Onix, who was a lot faster & stronger than Geodude. "Leech Seed." Some of Onix's health drained & I saw Bulbasaur felt a little better. Onix had used Bind, & was constricting Bulbasaur horridly. "Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur slapped Onix's face with his Vines & he was released. Leech Seed hit again & Onix cringed. Onix avoided most of our moves, he was really fast. & Bulbasaur took a few hits, but even Leech Seed couldn't save us, as Onix used Rock Throw one more time & Bulbasaur was done for.
"Great job," I whispered as I retreated my Bulbasaur. Who would I use next? I looked at Onix. He was tired, but still seemed in shape to battle. Amber & Chamander were at a disadvantage here, but Kabuto was awfully slow & would probably not be able to dodge any of Onix's moves, but it was a chance I had to take.
"Kabuto, Harden!" I raised up Kabuto's defenses so he would be able to take some hits, since he was too slow to dodge them. Onix attacked with a Rock Throw, but Kabuto was still standing strong. Then he used constrict, & as he held Kabuto up close, I called out for him to use Absorb. The attack was super effective, & I could finally see Onix wearing down. I used Harden a few more times, & then went for another Absorb. This one landed perfectly, & Onix seemed barely able to battle.
He hit us with a Rock Throw, but Kabuto was hardly damaged. One final Absorb knocked out Onix & restored even more of Kabuto's health. I picked him up & spun him around in the air like he was Simba from the Lion King. "You did it Kabuto!" I chanted. He latched on to me & didn't let me go. I chuckled at him.
Brock handed my my badge & Brandon congradulated me as we healed up our Pokemon before heading to Mt. Moon. "Are you sure we should walk through this place?" I looked at the mountain. "Do you know a better way to get through?" he asked. I sighed & shook my head. Neither of us wanted to go through this horrible mountain.
Needless to say, I won't bore you with our trip through Mt. Moon, which took the entire day, I'm not even kidding. For 9 hours, we walked around. We even had the luck to be chased by a swarm of Zubat, & I got bitten on the arm by one. They have sharp teeth! I also got bitch slapped in the face countless times by their wings. It was just horrible & I swore to Brandon that I would never go through that horrid cave again. It was toture.
When we finally reached Cerulean, we got a room & went straight to bed, exhausted from going through that hell of a mountain, Mt. Moon. The next morning, we had breakfast, as usual. We came across another trainer, a girl, who looked powerful.
She came into the Center, & looked over all the trainers there. She walked around & spoke to a few of them, & then when she spotted Brandon she walked toward us.
"Hello, my name is Amy," she extended her hand for him to shake. He didn't hesitate to introduce himself. I introduced myself as well. "You two wouldn't happen to have been to Pewter City recently have you?" she raised an eyebrow. "Actually, we just came from there last night," Brandon said. Her eyes went wide.
"Did you go to the museum?" she asked. I nodded my head. "Please tell me the Aerodactyl fossils were untouched," she frowned at us. "Actually... Thanks to Katrina, they were saved, someone stole them," Brandon explained. She sighed with relief. "Thank you, Katrina. I'm glad the fossils were saved," she smiled.
"May I ask why this is so important to you?" I questioned politely. "Just... A lot of bad people are out there. & stolen Pokemon are rising in numbers," she bit her lip. I looked at her, confused. "I just... I have a bad feeling about it. I think someone is behind this, these cases have been high as ever! Something has to be happening, you know?" she raised an eyebrow. "I sure hope not," I replied.
"Well, I should be going. It was nice to meet you guys," she said as she was called to the front counter of the Pokemon Center. "That girl's crazy," Brandon rolled his eyes. I just shrugged & watched her leave.
After we left the Pokemon Center, we traveled up North of Cerulean City to Cerulean Cape to train our team. It wasn't long before a group of snotty kids approached us & challenged us to a battle. Brandon was battling a girl, & I was battling a boy. The other two kids were watching us intentley.
"We'll release our Pokemon at the same time," the boy narrowed his eyes at me, for our four-on-four match. I decided I'd use Charmander first. He was a bit upset by the fact that I didn't use him to battle against Brock, & I probably wouldn't use him to battle Misty, the water gym leader, so I wanted to make it up to him by having him battle now.
We threw our Pokeballs in the air at the same time & out of his came a Spearow. "Peck." Spearow dove in with her beak pointed straight at my Charmander. "Jump then use Scratch!" Charmander jumped up & then uses Scratch, injuring the Spearow. "Use Ember." Almost right away, Ember burned & singed Spearow's feathers. "Spearow come on! Pursuit!" Spearow seemed to disapear into thin air. Then she appeared from behind & hit Charmander, knocking him down hard.
"Fury Attack!" Spearow turned around & dove down towards Charmander. "Smokescreen!" The area surrounding us became covered in smoke. Spearow couldn't see well.
"Spearow, flap your wings & blow the smoke away!" the kid thought quickly. "Use Scratch!" Charmander jumped up & just as Spearow cleared the smoke, she was knocked down by Charmander & unable to continue battling. We both retreated our Pokemon.
"Okay, is your next Pokemon ready?" the boy asked clutching his Pokeball tight. I nodded & again we threw our balls in the air at the same time.
