"That's great! Now Magikarp, use Tackle, & Eevee use Quick Attack!"
My Pokemon knocked out both of our opponents, a Poliwag & a Kakuna.
This was my fourth battle, & I was undefeated! I took this opportunity of battling rookies to train Eevee & Magikarp. Magikarp didn't seem to improve much, except for that fact he was able to use Tackle & do some damage now. But Eevee, Eevee was easily becoming a natural battler; he had already learned Swift & Quick Attack, & was really getting the hang of battling. Adriana was impressed.
Eevee & Magikarp were exhausted after our battle, so I recalled them & told them that they did a good job, & could rest now. Adriana didn't battle at all, she was simply observing. The battles started to die down eventually. More & more trainers stopped participating until it was just me, Brandon, & two people who wanted to challenge us. These people had been watching us battle the entire time, & they were definately not rookies. I could tell by the way the carried themselves.
Their outfits were suprisingly neat, & they were dressed in expensive white suits. Their hair was combed & geled back, not a single stray hair out of place. These two boys could easily be mistaken for twins.
"How about a six on six battle? Think you can handle that? Whoever wins the most rounds wins," both boys said at the same time with a cocky smirk plastered on their place. I was almost certain that these two boys descended from royalty & were very, very rich. As usual, I was right. I watched my opponent dig through a leather suitcase full of Pokeballs. He had that many Pokemon?!
"I have Pokemon from every region, money can buy you anything, really," he said in a snotty way. I simply huffed. "Yeah, okay." I didn't expect him to battle expertly. Money didn't buy you knowledge, & it didn't look like he even knew the first thing about battling Pokemon. Luckily, I was right. Thank Arceus.
"Let's start this off with you! Houndour!" A Houndoom was released from a Pokeball. It howled menacingly. I couldn't help but laugh. "What is it?" the boy crinkled his forehead at me. "That's not a Houndour. It's a Houndoom," I corrected him. "I call it whatever I want. Release your Pokemon for our first round," he rolled his eyes.
"Relic, this one's on you!" I released my Kabuto. The boy laughed at me. "That tiny little thing? Okay Houndoom, Flamethrower!" "Counter that with Mud Shot!" We tried, but Houndoom's Flamethrower took over. I cursed under my breathe as Kabuto was engulfed in flames & my opponent laughed evily.
When the flame subsided, I quickly asked Kabuto how he was doing. "Kabb!" Relic cried, ready to continue. "I thought so," I smiled. "Mud Shot now!" Houndoom fell to the ground as a super-effective Mud Shot hit him.
Then Relic used Aqua Jet. He didn't know that before... "Awsome," I nodded. Houndoom was looking noticabley weak. "Aqua Jet, one more time!" "Flamethrower!" As you probably know, Aqua Jet overpowered Flamethrower & Houndoom was out cold. "Great job Relic," I smiled & returned him.
The boy began to dig in his bag again for another Pokemon. "Okay, time to turn things up a notch. Let's go, Pidgeot!" A gaint bird emerged, soaring in the sky above us. Did I have any flying Pokemon? Fighting on the ground would leave me more vulnerable. I decided to use Phantom. He couldn't fly, but he could hover around, & that was good enough for me.
"Pidgeot, use Wing Attack," the boy began. "Phantom, let's start with a Sucker Punch," I nodded at him. He vanished for a moment, as Pidgeot fluttered around, confused. It's trainer was also confused. "What the-" my opponent began but he was interrupted by Pidgeot's cry as it was punched out of the sky. When it was on the ground, I used that to my advantage. "Thunderbolt!"
