Chapter 10
Michael's POV
Me and Ritchie were making our way back from the infirmary, walking side by side down the dirt path. We were just engaging in simple conversation, Ritchie attempting to finish catching me up on what I'd missed.
"so, what you're saying is, I missed absolutely nothing important?"
"important in terms of the camp? no. People though? yeah"
"well I don't like people so that's not an issue"
"sure, you don't. It's not like you would drop everything to help Austin out"
"I- I totally wouldn't... totally. Okay maybe I would. But- that's only one person though" I stuttered. Ritchie simply stared at me raising an eyebrow. I sighed, defeated, "okay maybe there's more than one but-"
Ritchie interrupted me, "there is literally no but to that statement"
"ugh fine" I sighed. Ritchie smiled in amusement before I continued, "so I'm going to not-so-subtly change the topic back to Austin. Are we sure it wasn't actually his idea to throw a ball?"
Ritchie chuckled softly, "it actually wasn't... but that doesn't mean he wasn't all for it when it was suggested. Think he would have actually fought anyone who protested"
"that's not surprising in the slightest" I smiled, taking a seat on the grass- an action Ritchie followed.
This was when Austin returned followed by Bri, who he had clearly found. Austin announced his appearance by coughing, or attempting to, and then sitting down beside us.
Bri joined our make-shift circle, sitting beside Austin, "hi guys"
I turned to Bri before squinting at Austin "well, I see Austin found you after ever so rudely running off"
Austin gasped, "I did not!"
"you did" I said blankly.
Bri chuckled, "yeah...we went to brainstorm some ideas for the ball and someone interrupted" she responded, "it's going to look amazing though"
"better than the last one then?"
"yes, definitely" she replied before glaring at Austin then continuing, "especially since it will have no tomb juice"
Austin sighed and flung his arms up dramatically, "No tomb juice! No costumes! No masks! What kind of ball is this?"
"not a masquerade one clearly" Ritchie responded.
Austin started to fake cry for a few seconds before shooting up and sprinting towards his cabin. The three of us were left sitting in silence, absolutely bewildered. After a few seconds Bri got out of her haze, gesturing towards the cabins with her thumb, "I'm going to- erm... yeah"
"have fun with that" I stated to which Bri simply nodded before leaving. I then turned to Ritchie, "you didn't happen to suddenly get a girlfriend when I was gone did you?"
Ritchie literally froze at the question, "I- err, what? No, I didn't- What? Why?"
"so, since neither of us actually have anyone to go with, you want to go as friends?"
Ritchie at this point was still shook by the previous question, "I- err. Wait, yeah, I would. You couldn't have asked that in the first place?"
I simply smirked, "nope" before turning away to face the ocean. Ritchie sighed beside me.
Okay, so I give you fluff and cuteness before my big thank you paragraph because I can. I am overwhelmed by the love on this story because omg. I'm currently on 1.2K reads and am #1 in ooo and mitchie so thank you very much. But, I also want to take this opportunity to apologise because I jut wrote a chapter (that's quite a bit away btw) that's very sad and... lets just say I'm getting ready to actually get an interesting plot moving. Aka a plot that's not just fluff because honestly as great as it is, I need some drama. Course, I'm doing the ball first because we were robbed in the actual series and need it.
Also, season 2 trailer release date, ep 1 release date and concept arts realease? Just yes. *happy child noises*
Okay, rant over.
