Chapter 4
Michael's POV
Hugs. Turns out I missed them a lot too. Stood here in the middle of the field, hugging Ritchie it felt like everything was right with the world. It just made it that whole lot better when everyone else joined in. First Austin, next Bri and then literally everyone else. That included the people I've only spoke to once. Never knew I meant that much to this camp. I'm not complaining though. This is nice.
Slowly everyone let go until it was just me and Ritchie once again. "hey, I'm not going anywhere" I said, "you're okay to let go" He released his grip in my hair but didn't let go completely. I let go with one hand and turned his face towards mine, "look at me. I'm okay, I'm not going anywhere" He looked upwards towards me and nodded slowly. It was at this point I realised he had been crying. I smiled over at him as he slowly let go and took a step back.
"you're never allowed to do that again"
"not planning to" I laughed
"mom" a small voice said beside me.
I turned around to face Austin, opening up my arms, "yeah you can have a proper hug too" He gladly accepted, beginning to cry as he did so. I began rubbing his back. Omg I have become a mom.
Once Austin let go, I turned around, "so, what did I miss?"
"a lot"
