Chapter 13 :)
Michael's POV
I stood staring into the mirror (courtesy of Bri) and sighed. This was it. This is the day where I finally say what I've wanted to for years now. Today is the day I step into the next stage of my life; a stage I never thought I'd get to see.
But here I am: stood in a suit, in a cabin I've lived in for far too long, staring in the mirror as I tighten a purple tie around my neck. It's so strange. Normally, I'd never put in the effort. People are considered lucky to see me in anything other than a hoodie and yet here I am.
Gods, I've never even wore a tie before. Course, I know how they work and how to put one on but they just seemed like unnecessary effort and pain before.
This is what I do for Ritchie, I guess.
The knock on the door that followed shook me from my thoughts. I shook my head, reaching forward to pull the small bouquet of flowers off my desk. I looked down at them and sighed.
Here goes nothing.
Ritchie's POV
Okay. This is it. Today's the day. All I have to do is not screw this up. That's easier said than done though. What if I'm wrong about all this? What I he doesn't like me. Things will get all awkward between us.
I finally stopped my pacing and sighed. I've got to at least try, right? It's not like Michaels the type to leave when stuff gets awkward. He's a child of Athena, he'll figure it out... hopefully.
What if he doesn't though?
Son of the messenger god and yet I can't get a clear train of thought. Ironic. You'd think I'd be good with my words.
Okay, its 18:59. That's close enough. Time to go. Hopefully I'll calm down when I'm there.
Jacket? Check. Tie? Check. Hair? Check.
I exhaled, left my cabin and crossed the path to Michael's cabin. I knocked on the door, my hand lingering in the air for a moment. Within moments the door opened to a smiling Michael.
"Well don't you look dapper" He said with a smirk.
"Why thank you" I said, doing a mock curtsey, "you look great too"
"thanks" he bowed his head in gratitude then reached up to hand me a bouquet of flowers, "Also, I'm pretty sure I'm meant to give you these so..."
Shoot! That's what I forgot! I sprinted away and back into my cabin, dropping my jacket in the process. I skidded on my floor, nearly slamming into my wardrobe in the process, then grabbed the set of flowers.
I ran back outside and to his cabin where I stood panting for a good few seconds. I looked up, instantly amused at the look of utter confusion on his face.
Then I realised what I did, "okay, so, I also got flowers. You know, the ones you put in your suit pocket? The mini ones? I know you said you didn't have one so, erm, now we have matching..."
Michael chuckled in response, taking the collection of flowers and tucking them into his pocket before looking up at me, "you want to take bouquet or not? I can keep them if you want"
This was when I realised I still hadn't taken them off him and that his arm was still raised slightly. I smiled guiltily, "yes I still want them, they're beautiful"
Michael smiled, "yeah... I didn't know what colour to get"
I laughed. The flowers were arranged in a collection of purple and orange shades. "they're our colours"
