---NO REASON---

Abigail Bethear

I groaned as the ringing started, I laid there for a minute before I decided I would rather not keep listening to the damn alarm clock. I wiggled a bit trying to untangle myself from the limbs I was wrapped up in.

      "Holden turn off your alarm."

There was a loud groan and a dark inked arm reached clicked the off button on the box a few times before the beeping hushed. I rubbed my eyes as I tried to focus on the man beside me. Holden had the pillow over his head now. I cracked my back stretching out so I was taking up most of the mattress and laying on Holden,

"Get off." He groaned, voice still thick with sleep.

I shuffled until I could sit up, the alarm clock read 7 am. I sighed then looked back down at the bed. Holden laid on his stomach with the comforter pulled up to his shoulders. He looked so at peace asleep, but I knew it was because I was here. Holden never liked to sleep alone, he grew up in a house with 5 siblings in tight spaces and close quarters.

"Holden," I whispered but he ignored me. I rolled over so I was laying on his back. "Holden," I called as he shifted under my weight. "We have to get up."

        "We absolutely do not."

I laughed as I ran my nails over through his hair. "I have to go home before we run by the office."

A hand reached back to touch my sides. "B shut up."

"Holden get up!" I sat on his back pulling the shirt I had borrowed up a bit so I wasn't sitting on it. "I have to go to DC."

Swiftly I have knocked off Holden onto the side of the bed I had been sleeping on and Holden removed the pillow from his head. He squinted at me as he rested on his elbows.

"No." Then he laid back down. "B just quite-go back to sleep."

      "Holden I need money."

"Babe you're made of money." He stated as he snuggled back into his pillow. "You're Daddy is made of money and with the amount of work you do you could retire now."

I rolled my eyes, he wasn't wrong but that didn't change the fact I needed to go back to DC. I had been off for three days, three days of spending time with my team and my friends, it was not enough but I had to leave.

Emily had checked in on me a few times, calling when I was at a party with some of the company teams. I felt bad that she had to hear the ruckus of my lightweight best friend and other friends.

       "Holden baby I'm serious."

"So am I go back to sleep."

I huffed, peeling myself out of the bed to use the restroom. His apartment was just like I remembered. Despite the amount of money, we made he still choose to live in a two-bedroom one bath apartment. It wasn't ugly or run down but he could afford better. I exited the bathroom to move into the kitchen, I smiled as I looked at the picture we had hung on his walls. Pictures of his family, pictures of our team, pictures of me and Holden that I had in my own home.
