The guys were all sat around on the sofas when I entered the practise room. Too engrossed in their own conversation they barely noticed when I plonked down on the sofa in between Luke and Jacob. This is how they always get when practise is in session, very serious.

'Dude I just think the song would sound sick with female vocals on it.' Jacob argued to Dylan.

I opened my mouth to make a joke at my brothers expense as he's the lead vocalist but he knows me too well.
'Don't.' He said holding an arm out to me without even taking eye contact off Dylan. I closed my mouth and glared at him.

'I get it, but it's not like we know many female singers.' Dylan argued.

'What about Gemma?'

'Gemma Foster?' I asked earning a nod from Jacob. 'No hard pass on her.'

Jacob rolled his eyes.
'You dont get a vote you're not in the band.'

'For once I actually have to agree with Violet.' Zac said making all of us visibly sit back in surprise. That wasn't a common sentence to come out of his mouth. Maybe this was his peace offering after I made mine the other day.

'Why?' Jacob asked.

I answered before Zac could.
'Gemma's too clean cut. Her go too is musicals not indie, rock music. She reminds of like a paint by numbers whereas you guys are a bit more abstract.....in a good way.'

Zac frowned before turning to the boys.
'I don't know if I should be worried that I actually understood what she meant.'
The guys all nodded in agreement making me roll my eyes.

'No need to be worried. That was intellect.' I stuck my tongue out at him before turning to Dylan.
'You should ask Mrs Monroe if she knows of anyone.'

Mrs Monroe was our music teacher at school. I dropped music at the start of last year but all of the boys were taking it as an A-level.

'Or we could just put something up on Facebook.' Zac butted in.

'Oh yeah way to attract the weirdos. Sorry but I veto any of your freaky fans coming over to the house.'

Jacob pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes.
'Again I repeat, you're not in the band.'

'No, but seeing as you insist on rehearsing here I don't think it's wise inviting some random over to our house. Have you not watched those horror films with people that become obsessed and start stalking someone.'

'Huh, she has a point.' Luke agreed.

'What about you Violet?' Zac said making all four boys focus their eyes on me.

'What about me?'

'I heard you singing the other day, you've got a nice voice.'

'Zac, you heard me messing around. Really you should find someone that knows what they're doing. Plus I spend enough time with you lot as it is.'
He didn't seem convinced but Dylan beat him from saying anything else.

'Fine, I'll speak to Mrs Monroe and see if she knows anyone.'

'Great.'

I stayed and listened to most of their practise before heading over to hangout at Ella's house.

Phase one of operation flirt with Aaron until he invites us to his party next weekend didn't exactly go as planned.
Ella's initial tactics were to find common ground and use that as a way in. She managed to find out that he worked at a gym most weekends so she started the conversation off with that.
