I thought Mel's house was big but this place was a beast. It was no surprise to me that Aaron's house was in the wealthy part of town. He kind of had that smug, my parents have got money, kind of way about him. I guess that explained why he always had a girl hanging off his arm even though he was dull as shit. The drug dealer revelation probably came into it too.
The party was already in full swing as we walked up the gravel driveway. Of course Ella's sister being her usual charming self, dropped us off miles away because she said and I quote 'I've already gone out of my way to take you this far, surely you can be considerate and walk up the street.'
To be honest I didn't care, I was just happy I was here. I had put my brother to the back of my mind and was determined to have fun. Otherwise I'd almost broken my neck climbing out my bedroom window for nothing.
Almost immediately as we walked through the front door we bumped into Kane.
'Hey! You came!' Kane shouted when his eyes landed on me. A wide grin broke out on his face as he left the group he'd been talking to, to come over to us.Immediately I was pulled into a hug which I returned whilst putting my middle finger up at Oli and Ella who I could see smirking.
'Come on, i'll get you some drinks.' We followed Kane down a crowded hallway until we eventually made it into a huge open plan kitchen.
'What would you like?' He asked, eyes on me.'I'll have what you're having.'
'Beer drinker? Well you do surprise me.' Kane smiled.
'Oli?'When the other two said what they wanted Kane moved over to the counter to get our drinks. He would occasionally look up and smile at me.
'Jesus I never thought I'd see the day Kane was panting over you.' Oli snorted until I elbowed him in the ribs.
'Here.' Kane handed us each our drinks receiving a thanks from of all us.
'I think I saw Aaron in the other room, we can go find him if you like?' He asked Ella.'Sure...lead the way.' She didn't exactly look thrilled but she had to play her part. Although technically it was me that got us invited so I guess she didn't really.
We followed Kane into what I was sure was one of many lounges and scanned our eyes around the room.
'Oh, this is awkward.' Kane mumbled when we all caught sight of Aaron with a girl on his lap. He grimaced as he averted his eyes to Ella but little did Kane know Ella was thrilled about this. She no longer had to tolerate listening to Aaron talk about himself all the time.
When Aaron eventually noticed us standing there, Oli and I were trying to hold in our laughter, Kane looked uncomfortable and Ella was..well to be honest so looked like she didn't give a shit.
'Oh hey babe.' He practically shoved the other girl off so he could jump up and wrap an arm around an unenthusiastic Ella.'Hi.' She said cooly.
'Sorry about that. I don't know who she is.'
If he thought that would suddenly make the situation better then the boy was an idiot.
'Have you had the grand tour yet? You know we've got a games room and everything.' He boasted pulling Ella closer into his side.
