Chapter 1
* Third person pov *
The moon seemed to stare down at Shame as she sat on the large rock in the middle of the river. It was full and hung heavy in the sky, a slight breeze blew past blowing her white-silver hair behind her. She stretched her arms in front of her before standing up and diving into the deep river waters. The light from the moon glistened off her wet hair and snow colored skin. She breathed in the cold steam coming from the freezing water, then she swam to the side of the bank that was in her pack's territory and climbed out.
Drying off with the towel she brought she picked up her clothes and got dressed. Even in the icy weather Shame had put on a thin black slip like dress, behind her someone growled and another whimpered. Shame turned around to see a large black wolf standing on the edge of the banks and an even larger brown wolf snap at him. The black one's fur was matted in blood and limped where it stood. One more close snap sent it into the river, it sank then struggled to reach the surface. The brown wolf grinned and huffed at the other, Shame pulled her lips back and barked at the brown wolf. It jumped looking at her in panic and ran back into the forest quickly.
Shame dove into the river and swam to the black wolf, taking it in her arms she tried to swim back to the banks. It shifted into it's human form as it was now unconscious. Shame now held a Black haired boy in her arms, which made it easier to to swim with.
Pulling him out of the water in her territory, Shame checked for a pulse and was thankful when she found one. She then proceeded to check for wounds, a large cut ran down the side of the boy. She leaned down and started to clean it before healing it. Now all that was left was a white scar.
There was a howl at the other side of the river and she looked up. A huge black and red wolf stood on the other side of the river staring at her and the boy, others started coming out of the trees behind the wolf. They all stared at her, some with worried looks towards the boy. Shame understood, he was their family, seeing him on enemy territory probably made them angry and scared. She picked the boy up, receiving growls from them, along with her towel she walked with him in her arms across the stepping stones in the river taking them one at a time so she didn't slip with him. Walking up to the huge wolf, who seemed to be the alpha and still staring at her, she carefully layed the boy down in front of him and placed the towel over his lower area. She pointed to the scar on his side until the wolf nodded to her as she indicated to them he was injured then stood and walked back pausing on the edge of the bank.
Surprising the enemy pack she deeply bowed to them in respect, then turned swiftly and walked to the opposite side of the river. She collected the rest of her things and walked into her pack's woods, leaving the others to take care of their young one.
The Alpha of Downstream raised an eyebrow at the mysterious sub who gave them back their heir. The boy's mother ran over and nuzzled her son, looking at her father and awaited orders like the rest of the pack. He had his heir back, the rest could wait till tomorrow. He ordered them to head back and he took the boy on his back. Something about the sub made the alpha curious, leaving him deep in thought. They made it back to their home and made the boy comfortable, hoping he would wake up.
