Chapter 2
* Third person pov *
Many days have passed since Shame encountered the rival pack, it all but have slipped her mind. She woke up early that Monday to make sure the rest of the pups were fed and ready for school. Khaos- the pack's beta- drove them to school. They arrived at Riverwood academy, it was a public school and was only called an academy because the board decided to make it from pre-k to twelfth grade. The school had an almost equal amount of both humans and werewolves attending.
Shame let the older pups run off to met their friends and she took the youngest to their classrooms before heading to her own. Shame loved school, all the information she learned, and to tell you the truth she was good at it. As yawned as she walked down the halls, she's gone to this school most of her life so she was used to the whisperers, snickers, and looks everyone gave her. From the students to the principal, everyone had something to say. They spoke about how pale she was and how beautiful her hair was. Shame never worried over her looks like most people did, she simply never had to and it wasn't interesting to her. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that she was beautiful except her own. But she didn't do anything to change that and merely didn't care.
She walked in and sat in her desk which was the last desk in the back of the room by the window. Shame loved looking at the clouds in the skies especially when it rained or stormed. Students came into the classroom with their friends, occasionally one would say hi or wave, in which Shame put on a smile and did the same. Other times she lead them to believe that she either hadn't heard it or had not seen it. Besides that, Shame kept to her self and nobody had a problem with it.
Shame passed through her classes in a sleep-like faze, she knew she was there and could hear what was going on but at the same time she was some place else. The faze was snapped when lunch came around, a familiar cry made her head snap up. She stood up from where she sat in the cafeteria and ran out the doors which lead right passed the main office. The Alpha from Downstream and his heir- Rory- were coming out when she rushed by. In front of the school two of the older wolfs from Downstream and a little girl from Blood Scar pinned to the ground, her clothes where disheveled and she was crying.
" Shame! Shame!" The little one called out and the boys laughed thinking she called them shameful. Shame ran up and punched the boy with the darker hair ten feet away and he landed on a car. The other lighter haired boy stood up and took a swing at Shame. She dodged and roundhouse kicked him in the side sending him flying too.
She then bent down over the little girl as the Alpha and Heir came out, other's from her pack pushed past her.
" Kana!" A little girl ran towards them, she was Kana's twin. Shame took Kana carefully in her arms as she whimpered. The boys got up and ran towards them.
" Enough!" The Alpha yelled making the boys skid to a stop. Shame gave Kana to Violet- the second oldest pup in the group.
" Take her home, everyone leave. I will catch up after signing you all out." She said in a firm but quiet voice. They all nodded and ran off towards their woods.
After they left Shame turned towards the Alpha, her clothes were stained with Kana's blood. She walked past them while avoiding physical contact with either, she walked into the front office and told them the kids from Blood Scar were leaving for the remainder of the day. The lady at the desk saw Shame's condition and nodded. She walked out and passed the other pack again, keeping her head high but her eyes down in respect.
" Shame! Shame Mercy Mathews wait just a minute! You need to give your grandfather these paper to sign!" The lady from the front desk yelled running over and giving her the papers. Shame nodded with an emotionless expression as she turned at the sound of her name being called for the second time.
" An interesting name you have there young lady, it makes me wonder what your parents thought when they named you it. Tell me child, why not finish these two boys for hurting one of your pups?" The Alpha raised an eyebrow at her and the two attacker stiffened, they didn't want to get punched again.
Shame stopped just inside the School grounds.
" In much respect Sir my parents didn't get the chance to name me, my pack did. Also I dislike the idea of un-needed blood shed much less on neutral grounds, if it were anywhere else then I am sorry to say I would not have let your boys up easy by holding back to just a small punch." She said keeping her eyes low. She bowed to they and left swiftly retreating to her woods then taking off into a run. The Alpha rubbed his brow at the girl, she interested him greatly. Though she interested Rory much more.
" Grandpa is she the orphan we hear rumors about in Blood Scar, she seems like an odd one?" Rory asked him.
" Apparently. But she seems to have a pure heart, Which is rare now a days young one. Come we go home, get you ready for school tomorrow. And you two, will be dealt with. Know better on neutral territory!" The Alpha replied leading his pups home.
~~ In Blood Scar territory ~~
" How is she?" Shame asked Khaos when she returned home. Khaos stood worried with her mate Abyss. Kana and Lana where their pups so they were not in a good state right now.
" She is in so much pain, is there anything you can do?" Khaos asked looking up with almost hope in her eyes.
Shame walked towards the room Kana was in. " I shall try." She replied walking into the room.
Her grandfather sat next to Kana, who was very pale, Lana held her sister's hand. Shame walked up and took Kana's empty hand, she could feel the pain and wounds appear on her as she took them from Kana. The little girl opened her eyes and the color appeared as she smile brightly. The Alpha pushed Shame out of the way and looked the girl over.
" Thank you Shame." Kana called to Shame as she walked out of the room and smiled to Khaos and Abyss. They gasped for joy and ran into the room.
Shame trudged to her room and cringed as she closed them door. Her special ability was the reason she stayed in Blood Scar, also it being that not only when she heals others she takes their pain and wounds. It may be helpful to the other person but can be dangerous to Shame. Adding Kana's wound to the on her already took from the Downstream heir made her collapse on her bed. Her grandfather, who was the alpha, came in without knocking and she sat up quickly.
" I have heard you got into a fight with Downstream curs, go to the river and wash before you stink up the house. And watch it next time, you cut it close with Kana." He barked.
" Yes Alpha." Shame replied back as he left. She gathered up the things she needed and headed to the river.
