Chapter 9
Another month passed and Shame was now showing, her baby bump was the same sized as her chest. She hadn't seen Blood Scar since the meeting and she was glad about it, thinks about what her grandfather would do if he found out made her feel like she was dying. Shame didn't feel so useless now, she had Rory and Downstream, and now she had her baby. Makoto kept up her ultrasound which went from every week to every other week now. Since she was in her second week of the fifth month it was to late to abort the baby, not that Shame would ever do that. The thought of abortion was disgusting and something she would not stand to even hear about.
Shame continued to study under Makoto and Ayumu, she had officially made up her mind to become a doctor. It was an easy decision, she wanted to help people, Simple but the hard part was admitting it. Even with her self-eesteem lessons she still thought little of herself, more than what she had but still little. Rory never left Shame's side, anthing she needed that he thought was to hard he did for her. There was something Shame wanted to do though, something she hadn't told Rory yet.
" Hey Rory?" She asked one night after dinner, it was Sunday.
" Yeah Love?" Rory replied, he picked up calling her that from Makoto.
" Can we.... uh..... go back to school?" She asked shifting on her feet uncomfortably.
" You want..... to go back...... to school? Are you sure?" He asked surprised. Normally someone in her state would have been happy to miss school but thinking over it again Rory thought it was just like her and laughed.
Shame nodded embarrassed, surely he would say no, right?
" Sure Love, I don't see why not. I mean after all you'll have all of us protecting you. But I get to be in every one of your classes." Rory replied finishing with a serious look. Shame beamed and nodded, she didn't care all she really wanted to do was see Kana and Lana, they used to be her bestfriends even though they were so young.
Shame went to bed excited about tomorrow but also worried. She was really showing now and Blood Scar still didn't know, should she risk everything just so she could see the twins again? Somehow it didn't make a diiference, she had to see them.
~~ The next day ~~
Shame was up before anyone again. After dressing in warm dark colors she made breakfast before she woke everyone up, waffles, Shame always made waffles in the mornings. They all ate and the older pups got the younger ones ready while Shame laughed when Rory made her get HIM ready. He acted child-ish with her always in a playful manner that made her feel like a kid herself. Soon they were out the door and piling into Mel's van. They were all dropped off and Rory stood with his hand in hers. He smiled at her before they walked through the gates.
All over were gasps from the people who recognized what was going on with them. Others either noticed but did nothing or simply didn't care enough to notice. Shame spotted Kana and Lana at their lockers, they were in front of them but their backs were against them as Luke and Ash were standing next to them talking. They girls didn't seem scared of them anymore instead there was a noticeable loving look in both the girl's eyes when they looked at the boys. Shame watched as both girls leaned in and kisses the boys, Lana kissed Ash while Kana kissed Luke. Shame and Rory were so close the four of them heard Shame gasp. This was something she never expected.
" Shame! Your back at school, I'm glad! Why were you gone for so long?" Lana asked walking over and hugging Shame. Lana was surprised at how her arms didn't fit around Shame anymore, then she realized Shame was pregnant. Kana noticed it too.
