Y/N POV

Have you ever had a semi-lucid dream? Like, you knew you were dreaming, but couldn't seem to change it? As if you where forced to suffer through a movie you hated but your friend wanted to watch it anyway. Just me? Oh well, I guess what I'm trying to say was that, this wasn't possible, what I was looking at. When I got, "disconnected" from my world, I expected to wake up in a hospital, with an IV pumping fluids into my body and handcuffed to the bed. I'd be questioned by police as to why I was crossing the street high as a kite, fined, and sent on my way. This, didn't happen.

As I awoke from my ungraceful slumber, I found myself laying in a forest clearing. Trees, trees freaking everywhere, so much of them that the sky above me was mostly concealed. I looked around, wondering where the hell I was, then it hit me. The girl, the SUV, G-man, I knew where I was.

I was in another dimension...

Yay?

Well, probably not "yay", as I had no Idea WHICH dimension I was in, this wasn't City 17, I didn't recognize this place from any other Game or movie from home. So where exactly was I? An alien planet? A Simulation? Literally anything was possible. Everything looked normal, despite me being in a random forest. If I didn't know any better, I'd think I was still on earth, with my... briefcase.

Why did I have G-man's briefcase? You almost never saw him without it in the games, but when he left, he left it with me. Did this contain the supposed "tools" he promised to give me? And what about those abilities he mentioned too? Can I now stop time too, bend the fabric of reality, teleport between dimensions? And why was I wearing his suit? Did he change me while I was Unconscious? Despite the thought of me having swapped clothes for no apparent reason, The piece felt oddly comfortable.

However, that didn't matter right now, I needed to get out of this forest, meet up with G-man, and carry out my "assignment". So I picked a random direction, and started walking, unaware of the shadows that followed behind me and the crater beneath my feet.

Unknown POV

Someone, or something, just made the mother of all explosions not far away from the camp. Now normally I would leave it up to the other Idiots here to go and check it out, but trusting them with something simple as, "Go over there" and, "find out if we're being attacked' is just begging for disaster. Seriously, I'm the only thing keeping this clan of bandits together. Well, time to go stretch my legs, I hope whatever, or whoever made that noise is worth my time, or at the very least they have something worth a lot of lien.

Y/N POV

You know what? Fuck this.

I have been walking for about an hour now, or at least it feels like an hour. Normally I wouldn't complain about a good workout but what the Half-Life games fail to mention, is that G-man's briefcase? It weighs a fucking lot! I don't know what's inside the damn thing that makes it so heavy, cause it's also locked! Now you may be asking, "why don't you just get rid of it?" Believe me, I tried. I chucked the thing into a pond cause I was sick of carrying I, I turn around, and it's sitting right in front of me soaking wet!

I honestly think it's cursed, or like, tied to my soul or something. I've left it on the ground for countless times, but it just keeps coming back. After a while of lugging around what appeared to be a manifested waste of time, I had the brilliant Idea of just leaving alone, walking for a bit, and then grabbing it when I needed to. It s genius!

Then, out of nowhere, the sound of growling filled my ears. Great, this forest has wolves, now I can die again! Awesome! Turning around, I found myself face to face with what was probably the most strange looking wolf I have ever come across.
