Chapter 13: The Allies

(Y/N POV)

What is the greatest conflict in the history of man? Is it the hundreds of wars fought over dozens of centuries, is it the internal struggle of politics that cause a country to collapse in on itself? With my new outlook on life because of my ascendance to a higher plane of understanding by G-man, I now know the answer. 

The greatest conflict man faces, is the differences of perspective. People share separate opinions on how they should act, should think, and these clashes of interest lead many to cause discord among themselves in order to subvert of convert others to their way of thinking.

Such a concept was brought to my memory as I sat with my new "allies." Raven was with me, of course, but still avoiding my gaze as she was still embarrassed over leaking our entire secret base and thus almost compromising my secret sanctum. Neo was watching me with interest, while her boss roman was trying to not have a panic attack over Cinder being upset with him. Surprisingly, Cinder's own lackeys, Emerald and, what was his name again? 

I didn't care, what I DID care about was having a meeting I was forced into. Of course I could leave at anytime, but I was getting bored lately, so I hoped talking with people other than school staff or Raven could help me out.

Speaking of Raven, I wondered how she was doing? I turned my head and looked at her, she was STILL looking shy, why not cheer her up?

Y/N:"Yo, Rave, What's Up?"

Raven:"Wha? Are you seriously asking me that?!"

Y/N:"Well you seem a little tense, care to share your mind?"

Raven looked tense, like she wanted to speak the truth, but feared it would lead her to ruin...

Raven:"Can you, make it so that the rest can't here us?"

Y/N:"Sure! That's like, one of the simplest things I can do. Honestly Rave, I expected more from you."

With that, I snapped my fingers, and the world stood still, only for a second though, and then all returned to normal.

Raven:"What happe... wait, why does my voice sound different? What did you do to me?!"

Y/N:"Relax, I just made it so we're speaking another language, dutch to be precise! We can still understand each other, but to the other, we might as well be speaking in moon runes."

Raven:"Wait, you can do that? How does that even work? nevermind, you can do pretty much everything..."

Y/N:"Exactly, now, what's on your mind, besides you informing the one person we shouldn't tell of our home base."

My colleague, one of the few people I can actually call friend in this foreign world sighed, and then she did something I would never expect her to do. she opened up to me. She shared all her fears, fears of Ozpin controlling her, of being an outcast from her team and family, her leaving that family because she never felt wanted around them.

She told me of her being one of the maidens, people who had magical powers over nature and could pass that power to another upon their death, and meeting me. As she went on, Raven kept looking around, afraid that someone would overhear her and know her secrets, I assured her that the only thing people could hear from her was complete gibberish, and I actually had to soothe the worries of the White fang and Cinder as they prepared for our meeting, because they thought we were up to something, that wasn't fun.

Raven:"And, that's about everything... fucking... why did I even tell you this?

We sat in silence for a while, before I finally had the courage to speak up.
