The house next door

Chapter 2

After a few hours have passed, we arrived at our new home. The house was pretty neat, just enough for us. The first thing I noticed about the neighborhood is the abandoned house, opposite ours, "what the hell", I said. I decided to ignore it and head inside.

While scoping out the house it felt a little uncomfortable because of the unusual pictures on the walls. There were a lot of pictures of animals like goat and deer, "A bit scary huh", mom said. "Ummm yh I guess". I replied.
It's ok sweetie, everything's gonna be just fine.

After a long day, I decided to go to my room and make myself "At home". The next morning, I woke up to a funky smell, I headed straight to the kitchen where I saw Jacob sitting eating cereal. "Good morning", where's mom? I asked,
"outside", he replied.

" Hi mom" I said,
"oh hey sweetie", "You slept ok?" She asked,
"Yeah I did".

A few minutes passed and Jacob decided to join us on the porch, we all sat there and enjoyed the morning breeze. Suddenly, I felt a breath of air behind my neck, a crackled sound, I froze for a second then spun around, but there wasn't anything.

"You ok?", mom asked,
"Ummm Yh" I replied.

I then looked at Jacob, and saw him starring at me with the widest eyes ever, as soon as he saw me looking at him, he turnt his head instantly.

Jacob POV

After finishing my breakfast and decided to join my mom and my sister on the porch. Later that same evening, I noticed someone behind Emily, just....standing there, starring, breathing heavily.

I starred at the old man's, weary body as he leant in towards Emily' s neck. I starred at her with wide eyes, waiting to see the old man's next move, just like that, I saw Emily spun around with fear in her eyes. Turning her face slowly in my direction, she stares....at me.

Ever so often, I would look at Emily in the corner of my eyes. Noticing that she's not doing anything but just starring right me. I pretended to ignore her, but there she was.....just starring. Then the silence broke, "so guys, tomorrow you both will be starting your first day of school", mom said.

" WHAT!!?"

Emily and I said in unison, making our first eye contact, after what just happened.

Emily's POV

Sitting there confused, scared, mom decided to tell us that we're starting school tomorrow. I almost choked, " what"..... I mean I haven't experienced the outside life seeing that we were home schooled most of our lives, so school sounds a bit scary.

What left like days, mom explaining to us it'll be ok, I finally decided to head inside and prepare for my first day of school.

I headed straight to my room to get ready for school tomorrow. I decided I'll wear some ripped jeans, a white t-shirt and a black and white converse.

Time flew by quickly and before I knew it, it was night already. I decided to take a shower before bed, so in the morning it would be less stressful.

After my shower, I started to become a bit hungry, I headed to the kitchen to whip something up. After contemplating for a few minutes I decided to make a bagel, some scramble eggs and a glass of lemonade to drink.

It took me about 10 minutes to finish my dinner, " I must have been really hungry", I thought to myself.
A few minutes passed and I decided to catch up on one of my favorite Netflix show, "YOU".

After a lot of gasping during the show, I started to get a bit tired. I shut my phone off and drifted off to sleep.
