Breathing heavily as I woke up from my unconsciousness. I could feel the burning sensation from the tightness of the rope he tied on my arms to a chair.
"You are so persistent Emily, I really like that about you" I heard in the darkness.
"Marcus, is that you? I asked in a shakily voice".
"See, the thing is I like you Emily. I really do but...tsk tsk tsk, you should learn to leave stuff alone, he chuckled".
"Why are you doing this?"
"Hmm, let's see" well for starters, you began to not care much about me. See, everything was about that damn slow brother of yours.
"Well for your mother...don't feel I don't hear u talking to her over the phone" he said in an irritated tone.
"How's she doing by the way?" He said while resting while caressing his chin.
"Oh and don't feel I've forgotten about you Hailey" you became so important to Emily, she doesn't even have time for me anymore.
"Marcus please, you have to do this"
"SHUTUP"
"I just don't know what to do with you both" he said.
Emily's POV
Starring at Marcus, my mind were filled with guilt, betrayal and fright. But most of all, I couldn't stop thinking about what he may have done to my brother.
Mar..Marcus, I managed to let out faintly. "What have you done to Jacob?"
"oh nooo..babygirl, don't worry about him, I actually liked him, he said with a giggle."
"Hearing him say those word made me cringe, how could I have not known this for so long. Thinking hard to myself, I thought about what that statement actually meant."
"He liked me too, and look where I'm at"
"Wiggling in my seat, I tried to loosen the rope he tied to my arm".
"Don't fight it babe, you can't escape from that" he said in a deep voice.
"Hailey are you okay?" I whispered.
"She's fine"
"What's really your plan Marcus?" Hailey asked.
"I mean if you really wanted to kill us, you would have already."
"How did you know we were coming here?" I managed to let out, tears escaping my eyes.
"I know everything Emily".
"What's that suppose to mean?"
"You and your best friend Hailey here....started hiding stuff from me, thinking I won't notice you too, But I see and know everything okay!!" He yelled.

With a sudden knock at the door, Marcus froze with curiosity."Knock knock knock" we heard at the front door.
Marcus quickly grabbed the cloth around our neck, covering our mouths.
"Hello, is anyone in there?"
"Mom?" I muffled through the cloth covering my mouth.
"Shhh, don't say a word or she's dead" he whispered.
Marcus cautiously made his way into the next room, causing him to disappear. As I tried my best to escape from the rigid ropes, I suddenly heard a thudding sound.
As I listened closely to hear what it was, my deafening ears were unable to. I stood there in silence with the ropes still tied tightly around my wrist.
"Mom?" I whispered.
"Let's go baby"
A thousand thoughts filled my mind with questions as I saw my mom. But the most important thing was to get out of here.
Hurriedly, untying the ropes on my wrist, I managed to get out quickly helping Hailey. Silently, we passed Marcus laying on the floor unconscious.
As the door swung open, I took one last look at Marcus on the floor as I quickly escaped the abandoned house.
