"Marcussss" I yelled.

I raced over to where he was laying, his body lifeless on the ground.
Tears leaving my eyes, as I felt Hailey's body, hovers over mine, crying.

The car that struck Marcus, just drive off.

"Someone call an ambulance" yelled Hailey.

~~
Later that same evening, Marcus was taken to the hospital. Hours passed as Hailey and I sat there, we waited for the doctor to come and tell us some news. "Good news".

"Emily?" The sound of my mother's voice, as I saw her and Jacob running through the hospital doors. She then embrace me into a hug.

I felt the warmth of my mother's embrace, as she advices me that everything's gonna be alright.

"Mrs. Emily Waters?"

"Huh" I first thought to myself as everyone else stares at me.

Doctor: Marcus is gonna be alright, though he has a broken leg and a concussion, he pulled through fairly well.

"Can I see him" I asked.

Doctor: sure he's right down the hall, second door to the left.

"Thank you", I said.

~~
As I entered Marcus's room, there he was laying with cords through nose and mouth, and his leg elevated.

"Hey you...what happened to you" I said in a low whispering voice.

"Please come back to me".

Hailey: "heyyy, how's he doing?"

Umm... I don't know, but the doctor said he'll be fine so, All I could do is have faith right?

"Sobs" escape my whimpering mouth as Hailey embraced me in the tightest hug ever, consoling me and telling me is gonna be ok.

~~
It's been 1 week and Marcus still hasn't waken up, yet everyday I visited him.

One Friday evening, I was a few minutes late with my visit, as I burst through the hospital doors, I saw everyone crying.

"What's wrong" I thought to myself.

As I anxiously approached the door, there he was, sitting up....

"You're late" he said.

I rushed into his arms... " I'm sorry" I said.

Marcus: I came back, just like you wanted.

~~
It's been almost a month and I'm still at that house. Though I'm eager to get out, I wondered where would my family live.

One afternoon, I was laying in my room, thinking about all the drastic change that occurred since I moved here. A boyfriend, best friend, haunted house, oblivious mother, and a far from secretive brother.

"Ahhhh" as I heard, what sounded like a horrifying scream, I rushed down to the living room and there was mom sitting on the couch, laughing at a game show.

"Seriously?" I thought to myself.

As I'm about to exit the living room, I noticed a dark mark on my mother's back.

"What's that on your back" I asked.

She stood up to look in the mirror to check her back.

"Oh, it's probably nothing". She replied.

~~
The next day arrived, and I headed straight to the bathroom to shower and get ready for the day.

As I headed downstairs, there mom was already sitting on the kitchen counter eating breakfast.

"Good morning", I said.

"Morning sweetie" she relied.

I prepared a simple breakfast, some scramble eggs, toast and a glass of orange juice.

As I spun around to join my mother, I noticed she had another one of those marks on her chest. I stared at her for a few minutes before she caught me.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

" You have that same mark on your chest mom".

As she realized I noticed, she quickly used her shirt to cover up the mark.

"Is she hiding something?" "What are those marks?"

I sat there confused, as to my mother's reaction.

"So how's school?" Mom broke the silence.

"School fine"

As she reached out her hand to place it in mine, I saw how dirty her finger tips have been. As I slowly raised my head to look at my mother, her eyes was burnt into mine, and her lips in a straight line.

She caught me looking her, she quickly hid her maleficent facial expression with a smile.

~~
It was later in the evening when I decided to go by Marcus.

"I'm heading out" I yelled.

And I as turn around to reach for the front door, there was mom.

"Where you heading too?" She asked.

With fright in my eyes, I tried my best to hide it and I simply answered by saying, " I'm going to Hailey's".

She grins at me, "be safe", she said.

Even though I told my mom I'm going at Hailey's, it was really at Marcus. As soon as I reached his front door, she grabbed me inside and kissed me passionately.

The kiss lasted for a few seconds, leaving both of us fighting for dominance, and of course Marcus won.

I slowly pushed him away, not that I didn't want the kiss but I couldn't focus properly.

Marcus: I'm sorry, I didn't mean...
And before he could finish, I said, " I think something is wrong with my mom".

He stared at me with wide eyes.... "why you think that?" He asked.

After telling him everything that took place, he suggested I come and live with him.
But I couldn't leave my mother and brother there.

We both sat in silence for a few minutes before I broke it.
Hey babe, remember that day at school, when you were about to tell something about the house next door? I asked.

Marcus: "clears throat", I don't like talking about this but, that house next door, belong to Mr. Jenkins grandparents.

"What, W..what are you trying to say?"

See, Mr.Jenkins parents were a couple who was into some deep shit.
Some years later they him (Mr. Jenkins),and when  he was about 30 years old, he got married and moved into that same house you guys live in now.

"So the house next door and the house we live in now, both belong to that family?"

"Yes" he answered.

After the Jenkins tried for a few years to have a kid, they finally gave birth to a young boy called David.

"David, the little boy I've been seeing?" I thought to myself.

Apparently the grandparents wasn't thrilled. They encouraged their son to give the boy up for adoption, and since he was always a kid to do as his parents say, he agreed.

David's mother, Leann Jenkins,on the other hand, disagreed.

One day, the grandparents, casted a spell on the mother.

One thing lead to another, and the boy was found in a bathtub face down full of water.
He was eight years old.

The mother committed suicide and 3 months later, the father died.

Ever since, suspenseful acts occur at the house and nobody wanted to live there. Then you guys moved in.

The night creeped up quickly, though I was solidified to go back home, I had to.

As I approached house, it was pitch black, and what I saw when I entered, was far from scary.
