AHHHH I really struggled with the acrostic poem today but I think it turned out okay?? Let me know what you think!
Bad Habit?
Maybe I've gotten too good
at wearing my mask every day
Do you remember what you told me,
when I started slipping away?"Hold your tongue and hush your mind,
it'll all be better tomorrow"
I've waited and waited for that day
but "tomorrow" never came
So I made this mask of mine
with 1 inch thick hard plastic
and a smile on its lips
but the tears still crash downMaybe I've made it too hard
for anyone else to see
the ocean that I've created
and how it's drowning meOr maybe my cries are far too quiet...
Is anyone listening to me?The Voice
I fell within myself
Slave to the quiet voice:Are you feeling lonely?
No, don't scream and shout
You mustn't be so loud
Or they'll surely lock you out
Now be a dear and keep very still
Else they find us outLock your lips and hear me
I crave a simple boon
Solace and friendship, only
To commune
Even just these whispers
Nestled under the setting moon
I want us to be together
No, morning is coming soon
Go now, but not too farI'll wait for you in the shadows
for the stars to rise again
One last question before you leave,
Will you think of me until then?
