It consumes my every
waking moment
All it does is
take
take
take
using me and all my
shattered pieces
It contorts my memories
into awful nightmares
It leaves me shaking in
the dark corners of my own mind
"You don't have to live in fear"
I know

I know
But it still keeps me from reaching you
please...

PLEASE!
Help rid me of this parasite!
Selfish Progress
People latch onto the surface of the Earth
Angry and hungry with gnashing teeth, they
Race around the world
And travel to the distant glowing
Stars to take, to kill, to consume everything
In their path, to keep everything for themselves
They've worked quickly in their short time, leaving
Impact marks wherever they roam,
Chasms of destruction they call progress that fuels their greed
