As one of the greatest warriors in all of Rito history, Corvus got a lot of slack for absolutely no reason. There was a stupid superstition that said that crows were unlucky and brought about death. Unluckily for her, she was a crow.

When her parents died when Corvus was 12, everyone pointed their fingers at her. She was obviously the reason for their deaths. They wanted to banish her that day, and then also when she played a prank on another kid a few years later, and then again when she got better at archery, and then again when someone she had never even seen before took an arrow to the knee. The last time the village called for her banishment was even after she saved the town from a Lynel. Why she ever did these things, she didn't even know.

She had thought about leaving the Rito Village several times, but every time she got close to leaving, she just couldn't do it. This was her home, she loved the village, she loved the valley they lived in and the people (although they all seemed to hate her), she loved the feel of the mountain air over her feathers.

The crackling of a fire brought her back to her senses. She was sitting in the archery range, tuning her bow, counting her arrows, then she heard someone coming towards her in the snow. Not bothering to look over, she smiled, slid all of her arrows into her quiver walked to the end of the plank, took a deep and steady breath, held out her wings, and as she exhaled, she felt herself be launched by a wind far up into the sky. She felt the air breeze past her body and let it guide her through the air, feeling truly at peace in this chaos in the sky. She peered down and saw another Rito standing there at awe of her feats. Corvus grinned wider and pulled out her bow, turning her attention to the archery range. In rapid speed, she dived down and shot, one arrow after the other, drawing her bow faster than she ever had before, faster than any Rito archer before her. In only 40 seconds, all 20 targets had an arrow sticking out of them.

She landed on the snow gracefully behind the visitor with a smirk.

"How did you do that?" the Rito asked, he was a friend of hers, with green feathers and towered over her.

"Skill, luck, and practice," Corvus said, bragging about her skill, "Why'd you come, Evek, other than to see a master at work,"

"Ha!" Evek laughed, "Are you really that full of yourself?"

"Guilty as charged," she bowed mockingly, "But seriously, why are you here?"

"Gaepora wants to see you, some Gerudo people arrived this morning," he said, "There's no denying you're the best archer in the village, and that's what they need, apparently,"

Corvus joined Evek and headed back to Rito village, "So they're looking for warriors?"

"That's what I heard,"

Corvus felt ecstatic, someone finally recognized her skill? It was true, she was one of the best Rito warriors ever, but most of the village refused to look past her distrust of her. Not only had she been the first to master Revali's Gale in a century, but she was stronger than most Rito, had a better control of her flight and a better sense of balance, she was able to wield the strongest bow the Rito had to offer, more than anyone else could say. Maybe she scared everyone even more because she was so great an archer?

Okay, so maybe she was a little egotistic.

Once she and Evek reached the chasm, she once again spread her wings and launched into the sky with Revali's Gale, Evek followed her and used her wind. They landed just in front of the village Elder: Gaepora. Gaepora was an owl, and compared to Corvus, he was gigantic. He was the tallest Rito in the village, and the largest, she thought he ate way too much of their food. Other than that, she didn't hate Gaepora, he always took her seriously and refused to banish her on the basis of superstition.
