The first thought Miko had when entering the Golden Palace of Gerudo Town was 'I need water'. The second thought he had upon seeing Aadil, the chief, was 'Crap, he's hot'. It was almost distracting. He had the perfect skin, a deep olive color, almost golden brown, his deep crimson hair stuck up wildly like he had just rolled out of bed, his eyes looked like solid gold. Plus, he had a fine body, it was almost unfair.
Then Miko had to remind himself that he liked girls, but if no girl liked him back...
So instead of denying the fact that Aadil was a beautiful specimen of the refined Gerudo body, he ignored it. But like everything else in Miko's love life, he failed. Horribly.
The rest of the day went relatively smoothly. He spent most of it inside, in the shade, drinking as much water as possible, and talking to his new Goron friend, Darmar. Darmar ended being a really fun guy. He was a hardworking miner who spent his entire life alongside his friends, or his "brothers", as he calls them, and he would spend every night training to fight. At the end of the week, he did sumo wrestling with his buddies. Miko almost wished he had a life like that, instead of spending his time either being forced into studying to be the king of the Zora, writing songs, playing with his band (which seemed like the only thing that made his life worth living), or getting turned down by girls.
That night, his nerves returned when all of the "chosen" warriors got together and introduced themselves. Naturally, Aadil was there, and he looked completely drained, and somehow this made him even cuter, like some sort of adorable puppy dog he just wanted to wrap in a blanket. Then, when he let it spill that his dad just happened to be the menace that plagued Hyrule so long ago, Miko found it was really hard to care about any of that. He barely knew the guy and he was already willing to back him up at any cost.
So maybe he was a bit of a mess.
The next day he discovered a beautiful place in the palace. Directly above the main entrance, throne room, place, thing, was a pool of water that flowed outside to create the waterfalls at the entrance. Without a second thought, he jumped in.
Feeling nice, cold water flow against his scales, Miko finally felt bliss in this arid place. It seemed like it would never run low, even though it was constantly draining itself, and even though it was in the middle of the desert, the front wall facing the city didn't even exist, the water was freezing.
He was laying in the water, his eyes closed, a wide smile on his face, when he heard the door open. He jumped, opened his eyes, and froze when he saw who was at the door.
Aadil stood there, completely shocked at Miko laying in the water. In the light, his golden eyes shone like the sun, his ruffled hair looked even more crazed than usual, and he could see his ring was backwards and sitting on his knuckle as if he had been playing with it.
"Sorry, I can get out," Miko said instantly, getting to his feet.
Aadil gave a chuckle, "No it's fine, whatever you need, ya know," he turned to leave.
"Wait, you don't want to join me?" he was an idiot. What the hell was he thinking?
Aadil smirked, though, as if the stupid statement wasn't actually that bad an idea, "You want me to join you?"
What the hell was he thinking? "The water's nice and cold," he smirked.
Aadil laughed as though he was being absolutely ridiculous, he fixed the ring on his finger, messed with his hair even more, and then jumped into the water with a large splash. He emerged from the water laughing like a madman, and swam over to the opposite edge of the pool, still wearing his now drenched clothes, and crouching in 4 ft tall water even though he had to be at least 6 ft. Miko, himself, was 7'2, and still he was laying so even his neck was submerged.
