Today had been the hardest day of his life. He knew it wasn't going to be easy, Jira was almost asking too much of him, between bringing together an entire army from every corner of Hyrule, taking away Bahuma's powers, and bringing back every single person Bahuma had ever sent to whatever dimension he trapped them in, Aadil knew his power would be tested further than anything he'd ever done before.
And then there was Corvus's betrayal. He never would've seen it coming, he never would've imagined anyone he knew ever betray him and willfully side with Bahuma. Her explanation meant nothing to him. He just felt absolutely enraged. Even now, he wished he could kill her, stab her through the gut, burn her alive, she had it coming to her. The only thing that stopped him was the look on Jira's face, and he realized that as hard as the betrayal had hit him, it absolutely crushed Jira.
His back stung from where Corvus had scratched him, and his thigh screamed. Apparently he had just healed the very top of the wounds, he hadn't actually healed anything. Regardless, he prepared himself again and closed his eyes, held out his hand.
It wasn't as hard to use the Triforce again this time. He let his mind erupt in fury he felt from Corvus's Betrayal. In no time at all, he was hit with the full force of the Triforce's power, he felt it run in his very veins, filling his soul, feeding eagerly off of the rage he felt. He let his eyes flicker open and could barely see past the shine of golden power.
The portal had opened up again, and already people were filing through. For every citizen of Hyrule Castle Town, all he had to do was snap and they be sent away.
He'd never felt power like this, pure unfiltered power. It was exhilarating. To think he had this much power for 5 years and he hadn't even tried to touch it.
He caught a glimpse of blue fabric, and then two figures walked through the portal. A second later, one of them was on the ground, wrapping Zariah in a hug. The King and Queen of Hyrule, Link and Zelda. They both looked exactly like the last time he'd seen them at Hyrule Castle. Aadil faltered for a second as Zelda looked up at him and smiled.
He regained focus, letting his thoughts of their reunion fuel the triforce. He got hit by another wave of power, the light grew brighter and the world seemed to blur around him, he could barely even see the portal anymore.
The next face he saw almost made him stop the portal. It was Ganondorf, his father, looking at him in shock and awe, and then pride.
He got hit again by more power as he felt his emotions rush through him. He was blinded by the light that absolutely radiated off of him, his heart was racing so fast he was afraid it was going to burst open, and with it came a painful throbbing in his chest. His skin almost felt like it was going to crack. The power that flowed through his body now felt painful, like it was too much for him.
"Aadil?"
The voice sounded like it was miles away, it echoed through his skull.
He felt the hint of a touch around his wrist.
He was hit again by another blast from the Triforce, but now it didn't just bring pain, it brought agony, like lava coursing through his organs, scorching his entire body, if he thought he couldn't hear or feel anything before, all of his senses were gone now. Black spots emerged in his vision, until all he could see was black, he was immersed in darkness.
He felt lost in his own body, trapped in his own mind, the only thing he could feel was pain.
At last he heard another echo of a voice, a deeper voice than before.
"You have to stop holding it inside of you!" the words were quieter than a whisper, "You have to let go!"
Let go? How could he ever let go?
