I giggled as Johnny put a flower that he had found, in my hair.
"Beautiful Y/n," Johnny said dreamily while trying to hide the blush forming on his face.
I grinned and bit my lip.
Johnny gazed off into the setting sun. His dark chestnut-colored eyes blazed a dark gold.
Soon after the sun had set, it started getting cold.
"Should we go to Pony's house?" Johnny broke the silence.
"Sure," I shrugged and nodded.
We slowly started walking to the Curtis house. We were mostly quiet the whole time, admiring every flower, and breathing in the fresh spring air.
Soon we started walking back onto the all too familiar paved roads.
Johnny had taken me onto a hiking trail that almost no one in the city had known about, except for the gang of course.
It was reasonably far away from the loud, rowdy city.
I fell in love with it, everything about it reminded me of the country.

"I love you Johnny cakes," I said as I held hands with him.
"I love you too gorgeous." Johnny beamed.

We weren't too far from the Curtis house when we saw the god awful bright headlights shining right at us.
I clutched onto Johnny's hand tighter.
"Don't worry, we'll be ok." He said as he pulled out his switchblade.

We casually walked on the sidewalk right beside where their car was parked.
"Hey greasserss." One of them rolled down their window and slurred.
We dismissed them and continued walking.

One by one they started to get out of the car.
"Hey. Talk to me greaser." A taller one pulled on my ponytail.
"Hey!" I spun around on my heels.
"C'mon Y/n," Johnny said nervously, tugging on my arm.
I began to walk with Johnny again, only a little fast this time.
One of the Soc's caught up and pulled on the collar of my shirt.
Hastily he pulled me into a headlock position and held a knife across my cheek.
"Johnny!" I cried out.
"Shut it grease!" The soc clutching onto me punched me in the face a couple times.
My head felt light and my vision was blotchy and blurry. My breaths started to shorten.
"You-you're choking me!" I cried out.
Moments later, the Soc was torn off of me.
It took me a couple of minutes to wrap my head around everything going on.
"Are you okay?!" Johnny ran up to me and hugged me tightly.
The rest of the gang had shown up and halfway down the road, I could see the red Mustang speed off into the distance.
"Maybe, I- I don't know yet." I stammered out of breath.
"You look pretty busted up," Johnny said as he softly ran in hand across my cheekbone.
I winced in pain.
"C'mon let's go get some ice." He said as I looked him over. He barely had a scratch on him, except for his scar of course.

When we arrived at the Curtis house, Johnny carried me to the bathroom and shut the door.
"Wow I look awful," I said as I looked in the mirror.
"You look fine, just a little beat up is all," Johnny said as he set me on the small vanity.
"No like I really do look bad. Even without the bruises." I continued to examine my face in disgust.
"What? No you're absolutely gorgeous." Johnny exclaimed as he gently dabbed my bruises with a damp washcloth.
"No I'm ugly," I murmured.
Without hesitation, Johnny slapped me right on my bruised cheekbone.
I gasped and my eyes filled up with tears.
"O- Oh my god! Y/n, I didn't mean to I-" Johnny gasped and tried pulling me into a hug.
I hopped off the vanity and rushed out of the bathroom as fast I could.
The rest of the gang sat up, concern painted on their faces.
I shook my head and quickly walked out of the house.
I speed walked it to the lot, where I started a fire.

I sniffled and stared at the crackling fire.

Why did he do that?
I thought.

Maybe it was an accident. He did have it rough at home.

I waited for a while for Johnny to come.
But minutes passed. And more minutes passed.
And those minutes turned into an hour.
I tried not to cry. But then I started to sniffle, and before I knew it, I was crying a river.
I started to think he would never come to get me.

I held the right side of my cheek, as it still continued to throb. I shivered a little and tucked my arms into my shirt.
I buried my face into my knees and began to doze off.
It wasn't until then when I heard sobbing coming from behind me.
"Johnny?" I mumbled and looked over.
Johnny sniffled and looked down shamefully.
"Oh Johnnycakes!" I rushed up and hugged him.
"I- I'm sorry!" Johnny cried out.
"Oh- Johnny It's ok-"
"I didn't mean to, I just didn't want to hear you talking shit about yourself. You're perfect Y/n! And I love you so much." Johnny hugged me so tightly that I could barely breathe.
"I love you Johnny Cade." I began to bawl in his shirt. "I could never ask for a better boyfriend."

Sorry it's short
