Ch. 32

Mariko POV

I sighed deeply as I found that once again my team had underestimated a bunch of genin. The fifth Hokage had managed to infiltrate my facility in Kumogakure. She took the kids out before the guards reached them. 

I really need better security. It's just not the same like over there. 

"Feeling homesick, Mariko-chan?" A blonde servant approached me. I smiled.

"Ruka..." I tapped the seat next to me and she sat. "Ever miss back home? This time period is just so...old. I'm not used to this." I stared at the future of Ruka Uzumaki. She was older than me by five years, and far more powerful than the Ruka in this time. 

"Of course I do! The only thing keeping me here is you. I was told to keep you safe."

"That makes me feel so much better." I rolled my eyes and she laughed.

"Nah, I just use that as an excuse to spend time with you. When I heard about your mission, I knew I had to help you. You always need my help." She poked me and I slapped her hand away as a reaction.

"Let's just hope we can get to big sis before Naoki does." I glanced at a camera showing live feed of Sasuke Uchiha in his cell. Not an easy one to catch, I have admit.

"Don't worry. I'm sure she'll go for the bait." Ruka smiled. I'm glad she came.

Sakura's POV

I threw up in the sink again. 

It's happening more frequently....could it be?

I shook my head. Impossible. My mind focused on Shunsuke. He left along with Takashi and the others. When that kid comes back, he's gonna be in serious trouble.

"Sakura-sama!" The door opened abrubtly and the new nurse barged in. "Sakura-" She saw my position and started apologizing.

"Just go fetch me some towels." She did as she was told and I stood up. I couldn't seem weak right now. Naruto needed me and Shikamaru.

MInutes later, she came back with two towels. I cleaned up the sink and around it and used the other to take a brief shower. The nurse was long gone and I quickly got dressed. Before leaving the room, I saw a picture of me and Sasuke carrying Shunsuke as a baby.

That's another thing. Where's Sasuke?

We got a message from Lady Tsunade about how her mission was succesful and she was coming home with the kids. No mention of Sasuke.

"Sakura," Shikamaru tapped me on the back. "Naruto wants to see you." I noddded and headed to the Hokage Building. Once I got there, I saw Naruto run out and pass by me.

"Hey! Get back here!" Hokage or not, he could have at least shouted where he was going. He just kept running toward the gates. My jaw dropped as I saw Lady Tsunade carrying Takashi in her arms and Ruka and Misaki walking together with Shunsuke supporting them in the middle.

"Mom!" Shunsuke ran to me as he let go of the girls. I held my arms out and he ran into them. "mom." He whispered and I could feel tears in my eyes. "We found him. We found Dad." He looked at me with a smile.

"Where is he?" I said while brushing his hair. He was alive.

"We couldn't get him out, but we know where he is!" Depite how tired he looked, he always seemed to have enough energy to surprise me.

"Good boy. We'll take it from here." I stood up.

"We'll?"

"The grown ups. You guys did so much already, you're putting us adults to shame!" I smiled at him and he smiled back.

"But we all wanna go with you guys!" He pleaded.

"Please, just rest." Shunsuke wanted to say more but he didn't. He held my hand for the first time in three years. I looked at Naruto while he reunited with Ruka and Kakashi with Takashi. I noticed Misaki was at the back holding her side, just looking at them. I walked to her, startling her.

"Oh, hi, Sakura-sama." She said politely and I offered her my hand. She smiled and gladly accepted it. "Can I please go with you guys? I know you're planning on saving Sasuke."

She had good intuition. "No. You four have to rest now. We're handling it." Shunsuke and Misaki glanced at each other and she nodded. "Do you have a place to stay?" She looked at Kakashi.

"Not really." 

"I'm sure Kakashi would be glad to have you." She gave me a look of thanks. I called Kakashi over and told him what he was going to do. He agreed after a while.

"I have a few rules though." I heard him say as they walked away. Shunsuke and I walked home after saying goodbye to Ruka. 

The family was almost together again.

Heyheyhey! Sorry for taking too long to update. This was a reunion chapter and I'm still oraganizing the story (what a shocker right? not.)
