Ch.19 Take Off

The baby must have been hungry for a long time. It wouldn't stop crying. I finally reach the road where dad was still yelling at the man. Mom spotted me and ran towards me.

"Ruka! Are you ok?" As she was about to hug me, she noticed the baby. "You found him?! Ruka where?" She asked crying.

"Around." I circled the area with my index finger. She took the baby and ran back to dad to show him. He couldn't believe it at first but soon took the baby in his arms and forgot all about the man.

"Ruka. Lets go home." He said in his normal cheery voice.

"Uh-o-ok." Weird. I walked to the man and apologized to him.

"No problem. I knew the risk when I was hired." He said.

I suddenly got intrested. "Who hired you?" I had to know.

"Sorry. Classified information. Please understand." He said apologetic to me.

"No problem. I understand. I'm a ninja after all." I walked away dissapointed. I at least knew one thing: Someone hired him to take my brother. Someone desperate. The first person who came to mind was Misaki. I stopped walking and turned around.

"Was it a girl?"

"What?" The man asked confused.

"Was the employer a girl?" I said more slowly.

"No, Ma'am. I don't do deal with girls. Not even women. Never had, never will."

He got up and ran off into the woods. Hate it when they do that. If it wasn't a girl, then she must have used a transformation justu. But of who though?

My brain hurt of thinking and because I smacked into a tree. "Ouch! Stupid tree!" I looked forward to see my parents sweat dropping.

"You ok, Ruka? " Mom asked me worried.

"Yea. Just.....wanted to show the tree who's boss." I smiled.

"Apparently, the tree is." My dad snickered.

I humphed and crossed my arms. "Says you. You don't even know what really happened." A little later I remembered my deal with Misaki. "Hey dad? What about Uncle Sasuke? Aren't you going to send a team out to help him?" A long pause was born.

"Nope." He causally said. I was shocked. Wasn't he dad's best friend? He told me the stories of him chasing after him, trying to reach him by getting stronger. How he helped him through the war against Madara? He must have felt my confusion. "I believe that he could take care of himself without you." He put more voice in the word without. I started getting angry.

"Without me?" I was about to say more but soon realized it was a trick to get me to blow. "Fine. I wish him good luck then." Dad must have been pleased for some reason. I didn't care. Tomorrow night, I was going to the Hidden Cloud Village with Misaki and save Uncle Sasuke.

The baby was so cute. He wouldn't stop smiling at me for some reason. He looked like mom, but also like dad. Unlike me, he was gentle with everything. I wonder what his name should be?

"How about you suggest a name Ruka?" As if reading my mind, my dad asked.

"I don't know." I thought about it. I went back to the many stories my dad told me. I then came across my most favorite. When dad beat Pain and meet the real one. "How about Boruto?"

Dad must have been surprised because he looked at me funny. "Why that name?" My mom asked me.

"It's the first boy, and I have a feeling he'll grow up just like you!" I jumped up as I said it.

Dad nodded his head in agreement. "I love it. It's familiar. Reminds me of myself. Don't you think Hinata?"

"Your right! Ok then! His name is Boruto." I smiled as they sat down along with me and played with the baby. Such a beautiful moment.

Night time came and it was soon time to leave. I got out of bed and packed up. Boruto was put in my room for now until they figured things out in the new house. Once I was done packing, I kissed him goodbye and placed a letter next to him. Slowly opening the door, I went out and passed through my parent's room. I could hear dad's snoring.

'I have no idea how mom can handle him' i thought to myself.

As I opened the front door, it squeaked loudly. I froze expecting them to wake up. Nothing happened. Quickly, I went through and closed it. The cold air blew against my face making me squint. I ran towards Misaki's place where she opened the door before I even knocked. Shusuke and Takashi were behind her.

"You finally arrived huh?" She humphed at me.

"Problem?" I asked annoyed.

"Yea. You're late."

"Then why did you open the door for me?"

"Because you're so damn loud!"

We went on like this until Shusuke cleared his throat. We snapped our heads towards him. "WHAT!?"

"Shouldn't we get going?" He nervously asked. I grew an anime vein and turned back to Misaki.

"Ok lets go." I turned my back on her just to annoy her some more.

We left the house and ran towards the gate. The ninjas guarding it were sleeping. We quietly went passed them. As we reached the forest, I felt a faint chakra. Familiar. I stopped and ran towards it.

"Where are you Ruka?" They called after me. Ignoring them I kept running. The feeling got stronger and stronger. As it did, I noticed it wasn't human. Soon enough, I heard a roar. I stopped close enough to the noise. Concentrating, I felt it move. Fast. I continued after it. After what seemed like ages, I finally caught up with it. I was surprised.

It was no more than two feet tall. Its fur was all ragged and uneven. Its paws looked blistered and cut. It was shaking non stop. Its eyes were filled with fear. It must have been running away from something because it was jumping at every moving thing.

I tried to get close without scaring it but it was easier said than done. A branch snapped beneath my right foot and caused the little animal to take off into a tree. I walked towards the poor creature with pity.

'Leave me alone!' I stopped.

"Can you talk?" I asked it.

'No! Wait. You can hear me?' Its head tilt to one side as if in thought.

"Yes. Why? Is that bad?" I slowly started to inch myself closer to the tree little by little.

'Only my masters can hear me. I don't even know you!'

"I'm know its rude to ask, but.....are you a girl or a boy?" The animal must have gotten a hit offended by the question.

'I'm a girl. What are you?' Then, I got offended. 'You see how it feels?' She laid down on a branch and closed her eyes.

"Are you lost?" She opened her eyes and jumped off the branch. The fall must have hurt because I saw her wince. "You ok?"

'Of course I am. Why wouldn't I!? Anyway, my name is Yvonne. What is yours?' She struck me as someone very prideful.

"Ruka Uzumaki. You don't look so goo though. Need help?" I held my arms out and a millisecond later she appeared in them. "Woah."

'Because you can hear me, that must mean we were destined to meet.' She cuddled herself against my chest and closed her eyes. She soon fell asleep. 'I finally found my home........' She muzzled in her sleep. I sighed. Her black fur would stand out next to my red dress. Oh well. I went back the way I came and came across Misaki, Shunsuke, and Takashi.

"Where have you been?!" "We thought you were in trouble!" "You're risking the mission Uzumaki!" I just walked right past them with Yvonne and leaned against a tree. I closed my eyes and held Yvonne close. I drifted off to sleep.

Sorry its so short. Thanksgiving week was hectic. Sorry for the so much dialogue also. I'm not much of an explanation kind of girl. I love talking. I might not update as much these next few week too.
