[9] Drugs

(Trigger warning - This chapter addresses suicide and bullying.)

We arrive back at the house, just the three of us. Andre sent a few of the boys to find Mia and take her home safely, but there is still a horrible feeling in the air. 

"See what I mean now?" He asks me still as angry as ever "She's off her face on drugs, she won't talk to us, she won't talk to Mum and Dad, she won't tell us the name of the drop kicks she hangs out with and then when I stumble across her by mistake she's with some loser from a small-time gang, I mean what the fuck is she thinking." 

"Babe calm down." Sara tries as she places her hand on his shoulder 

"Easy for you to say sweetheart she's not your sister is she." 

"Excuse me" Sara snaps back "She is my sister, I'm your wife and last time I checked I care about her just as much as you do, sure she's not my blood but that doesn't mean I don't love her." 

"Guys, don't fight." I interrupt. "Don't let what's happening with Mia get to you, I know it's hard and it sucks, but we'll work something out okay?" 

"He's right" Sara sighs "I'm sorry" 

"No, I'm sorry" He pulls her into his arms and kissing the top of her head a few times.

Leaving them to their moment I make my way upstairs and into my bedroom. I kick of my shoes off leaving them near the door and then take a seat on the lounge. I hang my head and close my eyes for a moment, have I really been sleeping with a girl who's been on drugs this entire time? Sure I knew she'd been drinking but she seemed so in control and as if she knew what she was doing. It's no wonder she freaked out on me so hard of a morning, maybe she didn't even remember how we got there, hell she probably thinks I took advantage of her. 

I should tell Andre, I know that I should but as of right now that would only make things worse and I don't think right now is the right time to let him know I've slept with his little sister twice, oh and by the way, she would have been off her face at the time. 

Buzzz Buzz Buzzz 

One new text message from Cora: Hey babe, want some company?

I think for a moment and look around the empty room 

"Yeah, come over, text me when you're here and I'll open the front door." Send

Mia's POV:

It didn't take long for Matt and Benji to find me and drive me home. I could kill Andre for what he did tonight he's caused more trouble than it was worth, but I also realize there is no one to blame but myself. 

I step out of the shower and pull on some clean panties and an oversized jumper before sitting down on my bed. I place my forehead on my arm, my open hand resting on my head and close my eyes thinking of tonight's events, the toxins finally leaving my system. 

"Mia" Mum knocks on the door before entering 

I wipe my tears quickly and give her a small smile "Hey"

"Hey" she walks across the room and sits down on the edge of the bed next to me "Do you want to talk about it?" 

"It was just some stupid fight with Andre, it doesn't matter" 

"You seem really upset honey, and he apparently didn't tell the boys what it was about, just to find you." 

"He didn't?" I ask surprised 

"No, but you're giving me the vibe we really should know whats going on here." she sighs

"No." I shake my head "It was just a dumb brother-sister fight, don't worry about it." 

"You can talk to me about anything you need to Mia, whatever it is you're going through it hasn't gone unnoticed the last couple of months and we're all really worried about you."

"Don't be." I shrug 

"Mia I'm your mother and I love you with all my heart, your father loves you very much as well and so does your brother for that matter. I will worry about you and love you no matter what until the day I take my last breath." She begins to get teary "I understand if you don't want to talk about it right now, and I understand that whatever it is maybe it's not easy to talk about, maybe you think I'll get angry with you, but whatever it is honey I won't. I love you and I just want my baby girl to be happy." She kisses my head and stands up wiping her tears "I'll leave you alone." she exits the room and closes the door. 

"Oh Tesoro" (Sweetheart) I hear dad from outside the door. "Come here" 

I can't believe how selfish I've been, how did I not see that I was hurting my family this entire time? It's not just me that I'm messing things up for it's all of them as well. I've hurt all of them, I am hurting every one of them every single day with my actions.

Buzzz Buzzz Buzzz 

Adrianna calling: 

"Hello?" 

"What the fuck Mia, you're lucky you didn't get me killed, how could you be so stupid? You know the boys are working with a rival gang and you get your brother involved." 

"I didn't get him involved Adrianna, he was at the burger place, it was your friend who got himself caught, he's the one walking around with coke falling from his pockets." I fire back  

"Mia" I hear his voice down the phone "You fucked up sweet thing, you're lucky you have your family to keep you protected or I'd pull the trigger myself." He inhales down the phone, probably a cigarette. "Do us all a favor, next time you get on the coke take the entire bag in one hit, it's not like anyone would miss you" He laughs and hangs up. 

I squeeze my eyes shut and take a few deep breaths. He's right. All I'm doing it hurting everyone around me, what's the point? I lost my friends the day I met Mikey, I lost my family the day I started using and now I've lost my cousin and the rest of them as well. What's the point of it all.
