The next few days were hell for me, I saw Jack every day in the class or around the school but he didn't even acknowledge me at all. Emmy and Ellie became friends because Mr. Brian paired them together for a short brain exercise activity, Millie got the flu and had to stay home until she recovers and Sophia had to go to Barcelona to watch a tennis match with Serena Williams VS. Rafael Nadal. I didn't even know she was into that sport...

Anyhow, I'm stuck alone at this shitty school, I sat down at the table by myself at lunch. Sometimes I contemplated ongoing to eat food in the girls' bathroom stall, but that's gross. I gagged at the thought of it, losing my appetite.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" I hear Ellie's voice as she takes a seat beside me, I look at her with a blank stare "what do you need?" I tried to not sound rude but failed since her face went from a smile to a hesitant look.

"What is Jack's favourite snack to eat?" she looks down at her bracelet and plays with it awkwardly

"Uh, he likes Doritos..." I shrug

"Thank you, I hope you don't mind that I asked, since, you know..." her eyes break contact with me, I sighed and rolled my eyes "yeah, I know Ellie you don't have to remind me." I spat

"Um. Okay." she got up and walks away I threw away my disgusting lunch and went to my next class; art.

I walked in the class to see Emmy sitting alone, she saw me and waved with a cheerful smile but I didn't bother to do anything back as a response. I sat down in front of her soon after she tapped the end of her brush on my shoulder I turned to face her "what?" I asked

"Are you okay?" she questions my avoidance of her, she looked rather upset with me

"Yeah, Emmy I'm fine." I assured but by the look on her face, she didn't buy it "y/n, did I do anything to upset you? If I did I'm truly sorry."

"it's nothing Emmy, you don't have to worry about me," I say and turn back around to my painting canvas

"Okay but there's this party tonight and I was told I can bring a guest, are you interested in joining me?"

I turn back around "depends on whoever is hosting the party"

"I don't know the guys' name but he is really nice, I met him a couple of times. You should come" she smiles

"I'll think about it."

"alright" she nods

Art class was my last period so after means I go home, I left the classroom and Emmy caught up to me as she walked beside me "Hey so have you thought about it?"

"About?"

"the party!" she smiled widely "you forgot already?"

"yeah..." I paused "well, no... I lied, I just never really been to a party it's not in my comfort zone." I say she nods understanding me "I get it, but if you aren't interested that's okay."

Maybe this is a calling for me to make more friends, potentially a new boyfriend too... going to a party to distract myself from what's currently going on in my life doesn't sound too bad. So I did what any other teenage girl would do. "Emmy wait." I stopped her in the hallway

"Yeah?" she looked at me "I-I'll go, just please don't ditch me as soon as we get there..."

"I wouldn't do that to you y/n, I'll text you the address - here give me your number" she holds her hand out indicating I should hand her my cellphone, I grab it from my pocket and place it in her hand she types her number in the contacts then hands it back with excitement plastered on her face "this will be great, see you later!"

"Yeah, totally... I'll see you before the party" I nod and let out a nervous giggle she catches up to Ellie in the hallway and they walk out the main entrance to wherever.

I got a weird feeling about agreeing to attend that party since she still hangs out with Ellie who's basically dating my ex-boyfriend now.

I let out a winded sigh and decided to go home before it got too dark outside and the party starts in a couple of hours, I take years to get ready.
