NINE

Jack and I returned to his house since I still haven't made up with my mom completely, but I'll do that later. He walked me upstairs past his mom she greeted us and we said our hellos before heading up to his room. We both sat down on his bed quickly he grabbed me into an embrace tightly almost enough that my lungs would collapse.

"Jack, you're kind of squeezing me too hard." I let him know with a wheezy breath

"Sorry, I didn't mean to..." he let go of me I kissed him "you're fine, don't worry about it."

"I missed you" he softly spoke "and I wanted to apologize for all the horrible feelings I put you through. I promise to never do that again for as long as we live. I love you so much."

I frowned "I missed you too." 

"I get it, you're mad at me still and you have every right to be. I just wanted to make sure that I truly am honest with everything I said in our relationship, you mean a lot to me."

"Jack, you left me for Ellie just like that, right after six months I spent with you. The only reason I'm currently sitting in your room right now is that she was already dating someone before you had the chance to ask her out." I got more angry thinking about what he did.

"Her and I weren't going to date-" he started but I stopped him "oh please, Jack. You two kissed your arm was around her at Finn's party, you ignored me for her at school AND you let her sit on your lap during lunch." I stood up "not to mention you got her a drink and snacks at the party, the ones she came and asked me what kind of chips or whatever you favour during break time at school."

"Okay maybe I tried to distract myself with another girl, it wasn't easy taking in that you're moving soon and I'll never see your face to face again for a while. I care about you, a lot. In all the past girls I've liked I have never felt this way about any of them like I do, you." 

"I don't know what to believe anymore, you say these things but do the opposite. All you do is think about yourself when it comes to rough patches in our relationship, you lost my trust twice already so what makes you think I'll give you the chance again?"

"Talia." he said quietly I glared at him "Talia?" I hissed "What the hell does she have to do with this?"

"When we started dating you helped me with her, she was toxic and yeah maybe I have been too. But can you at least understand where I'm coming from, I had to go to court because of that psycho and I still attend weekly therapy sessions," he says

"shit, I forgot about her..." I giggled slightly out of embarrassment "she was pretty crazy though."

"she was insane and clingy, but I've always stayed loyal to you even when she tried to get back together with me. I never left you for Ellie she was just there as a friend and confessed feelings towards me, she had this idea of fake-dating me so I'd be distracted from being sad over you and she was into me so it was a 'win-win' for us both but I was hesitant, I honestly saw most of it as friendly gestures until she kissed me out of nowhere." he tells me, I sat there processing what he had just said, "why didn't you say the kiss was all from her before?"

"I'm just overwhelmed by everything, sorry I am all over the place with my mindset and have a hard time being direct with stuff in conversations, it's not every day I get in a heated argument" he laughs "you know?"

"Yeah Jack, only too well." I roll my eyes "as I said before; you're stupid. But you make me happy and I love you, so..."

"I'm happy we can talk and work things out." he smiled and kissed me while pulling me onto his lap "I just want us to be a drama-free couple again."

"oh, you have no idea how much I want that too." I giggled I gave a small peck on his nose then wrapped my arms around his neck gently. "I promise to never break your heart ever again, y/n," he said softly brushing my hair with his fingers.

"I promise to not break your heart either," I say

"love you" he kissed my head

"love you too"
