TWENTY

Jack invited me to a house party he was throwing this evening since his dad and stepmom were away and I didn't know if I should go, so I lied and told him it was that time of the month and I was suffering serious cramps.

And it seemed to work until he showed up to my house unexpectedly when I was hanging out with Millie and Sophia acting perfectly fine...

"Hey, I thought you were on your period?" Jack walked into the room seeing us all on my bed watching some TikTok's on my phone.

"Yeah, I didn't want to be alone so Mille and Sophia came over. I don't have them continuously they come and go." I get up off my bed

"Well, I would've come over and been here for you if you asked, why didn't you?" He wondered, frowning slightly hurt.

"I don't want to go to your party- can we talk about this downstairs?" I push him out of my room following behind he grabs my hand.

"What's wrong?" Concerned he grabbed strands of my hair moving it behind my ear.

"It's nothing..."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm fine..." I lied

"You can tell me anything" he assured "I love you" giving me a small kiss on the forehead.

"Do you need anything?" He asked

"No, I'm good" I smiled "have fun with the party"

"I don't know if I'll have it since you won't be there" he pouted grabbing my hips bringing me closer to him he kisses me

"I'll be ok, go have fun. I don't want to be your anchor holding you down all the time" I say

"Maybe you can come just for the first little bit? You can leave whenever you please."

"Alright fine." I gave in, he smiled and hugged me kissing my head "thank you babe I love you."

"I love you." I hugged back giving him a squeeze

"I'll let you go have fun with your friends, just get ready and I'll see you then" he kissed me before leaving quickly.

I walked back upstairs to see the girls sitting on their phones, they both looked up at me.

"So?" Millie sat up

"I'm going to the party." I say

"Why? It's always the same thing he parties too hard and then a random girl is there and BOOM he's all over her not you" she says

"You didn't have to say it like that" Sophia mumbles

"It's true-" Millie starts

"Okay guys, I need help. And this isn't working for me" I sigh sitting down with them on my bed "Finn is going to be there and we had an incident the other day." I tell them

"What happened?" Millie was curious to know

"We almost had sex..."

"You what!" They both yelled

"Finn and you?" Millie was shocked, realizing the look on her face "you really do get around don't you." She got up

"Millie, it wasn't like that he legit got me in his car and I didn't even want to do it but it was forceful, well, sort of but-"

"Shut up. You always get every guy like this is some stupid teen chick flick and you're the hottest most prettiest girl ever who thinks everyone likes her but your really just a tramp."

"I only have done it with one person, and not like it's your business but it was only with Jack." I get up "but of course you act like it's all my fault-"

"because it is" she hisses

"how! i cant control who likes me or not, I just have a great personality I guess, maybe if you weren't so stuck up and actually made some type of move on a guy you wouldn't be so alone" I sneer

"A great personality? What joke-" Millie began

"Guys, guys! Calm down!" Sophia chimes in we both stop and look at her.

"What?" I snap

"Can we just get you ready for the party?" She sighs while heading for my closet opening it and grabbing a nice dress.

"That's my prom dress." I say

"Oh, well do you have any other dresses or something nice." She asks

"Aha, y/n having something nice to wear in her closet? That's a first." Millie says

"Oh wow thanks, you and your British accent can go back to wherever you came from in Europe!" I clap back at her

"Oh my god, never mind I'm leaving!" Sophia storms out and slams the door behind her

"Ok. I'm going to leave too." Millie got up and left closing the door behind her

I walked over to my closet grabbing a black two piece shirt and mini skirt I attempt to crimp my hair but fail so I straighten it and throw a couple of bobbypins in it, I add a few pieces of jewelry to my outfit and throw on a jacket over my shoulders. Grabbing sneakers I throw them on and take one of my many bags I own.

going downstairs I let my mom know I'm leaving with her car since mine is a dump, she hesitates to hand over the keys but then does it because I bribe her with saying I'll do extra chores for the rest of the week, so she agrees and lets me take her car.

"thanks mama" i kiss her shoulder and run out the door, she yells "be safe and 12 is the curfew!"

"okay, mom I got it" i close the door after replying and get in her car driving to Jack's I arrive to see a house full of people and music blaring like it always is when he throws parties.

i sit in the car for a few minutes before getting out reassuring myself that everything will be okay and I will go in, maybe eat some food or snacks, see Jack then leave shortly after and go to sleep in my bed in comfy pjs.

"ok, it'll be alright. You got this girl, don't get wasted" i say to myself quietly before leaving my mom's car locking the door twice to make sure it is I go to the front steps, greeted by some freshman boys they compliment me on my outfit, I shoo them off and walk away to find Jack.

"Ooooo snacks!" I squeal running towards the open pantry where people were going in and out of with many different junk food bags, I saw a bag of doritos and grab them walking out i see finn across the room from me but he was facing away.

I quickly run in a direction where he wouldn't be able to see me and almost run into someone, turning to face them I see Noah.

"oh hey y/n, Jack's been looking for you" he says loudly over the music

"where is he?" i shout

"if you go outside in the backyard he's sitting around the fire with caleb, and gaten!" he points to the back door i nod and walk over there

"hey!" someone yells, it sounded like finn "hey! wait up!"

I run to the door but he grabs my shoulders, I turn around and face him "finn, what do you need?" i snap 

"I just want to talk, wanna go somewhere quieter?"

"with you? No thanks, the last time i went anywhere alone with you, it didn't end well!" i yelled over the music

"I won't try anything this time, i promise!" he says 

i stay silent for a moment, maybe he really wants to apologize sincerely to me somewhere a bit more mellow so i can understand everything he has to say.

"okay, fine." i cross my arms "I hope you have a great apology for me" i smile

"i do" he smiled back and led me upstairs to a room, it was a guest room across from Jack's

he closed the door tooning out the loud mediocre music that blared throughout the home, sitting on the bed with me he sighed. 

"I really like you, like I really like you." he speaks softer than usual
