Steven awoke to the cool, damp air. He stood up confused as his eyes scanned his surroundings. He was on a boat. Steven looked over the side at the dark water below. Panicked, he gazed around to see if anyone was there. "Hello? Anyone!? What's going on?!" Steven called out. Suddenly, he heard giggles behind him. He whipped his head around to see his friends and family talking. They all seemed so happy. "Connie? Dad? Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl? Lars? Bismuth, Lapis, Peridot? Spinel? W-What's going on? I'm scared." Steven asked. There was one more person among the chatter, but he could not make out who it was. As soon as Steven spoke, everything went eerily quiet and everybody's smile disappeared. "G-Guys? Please answer me!" Steven pleaded. Just then, everyone in the group spun their heads around to face Steven with a loud snap. Startled, Steven jumped back into the edge of the boat, causing it to rock back and forth. He grabbed both sides of the boat to keep steady. Thunder cracked above as water sloshed into the boat as it bobbed up and down in the choppy waves. Steven sat paralyzed in fear as everyone he knew stalked closer and closer with evil grins on their faces. The person he could not recognize before was standing in the front. "Mom?!" Steven exclaimed, trying to find a safe way to escape. All at once, everyone began taunting him, except it was not their own voices, it was his own.

"What are you doing here? We don't need you."

"You are worthless. Useless."

"You don't deserve to be alive."

"You deserve to die."

"You deserve to die"

"YOU DESERVE TO DIE!"

Steven hugged his knees as he listened to their chants, tears running down his cheeks. His entire body felt hot. Steven shivered as the cool, misty air grew thick and the freezing water hit his back, soaking his jacket. No... no... it's not true! Steven tried to convince himself. "Oh, but it is!" everybody in the boat added in response to his thoughts, as if they were reading his mind. They all took a big step toward Steven, looming over him like giants as he trembled with horror. "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME!?" Steven cried, standing up in defense.

"Nothing." everyone replied flatly, attempting to shove Steven off the boat and into the icy water. Steven screamed as he gripped the edge as tightly he could. "PLEASE! HELP ME!" he cried once more. Ignoring his request, they pushed again, this time knocking Steven into the water. Steven coughed and gasped for air, still holding onto the boat. "Please..." he gagged, accidentally swallowing some of the water. Steven's fingers were starting to slip. He could feel something weighing him down, like shackles chained to his ankles. He was sinking.

Everybody in the boat just walked away from Steven, leaving him to drown.

Everybody he cared about, leaving him to die.

     They all just stood there.

     Waving.

     "Bye Bye."

     "Bye Bye."

     "Bye Bye."

Steven let go as he gave in to the gravitating pull of the abyss below. His vision blurred as the murky water filtered his sight. He could hear the muffled laughter of his friends and family as he sank deeper and deeper. He was losing breath. All he felt was numbness as the darkness engulfed him.

Steven's life began to drain away as the voices rang in his mind.

"You don't deserve to be alive."

"You deserve to die."
